bassaddik
you know, for the longest time, i didn't get it with Sadowsky. I mean, I thought they were good basses and all, but overhyped and overpriced- i even owned a Tokyo a while back and it was super heavy , so i sold it. Well, last week I bought another Tokyo andthis one is light and absolutely smokin! I have not put it down since I got it and it's been the only bass I have played since then as well- I am sure I will go back to my F and Nordstrand eventually, but I'm on a honeymoon- so now I see what the hype is about. It plays great and sounds fantastic in any situation. There certainly is a thing to them. The one you posted is a beaut. Mine is a Tokyo in black with white blocks and binding. I ordered a couple of different pickguards so i can change the look from time to time- Praise ye the LORD. ....praise him with stringed instruments and organs... What kind of preamp is in the Tokyo models and when are they going to put out a Tokyo P-bass? the Tokyo i s actually discontinued, now they have the Ultra Vintage Metro- i like the Tokyo because it has a full size body, blocks and binding, single coil pups ( sound great )- a badass ii bridge, and the preamp is bass boost and treble boost an d cut which eliminates the need for a vintage tone control- it has a real 70's kind of slice to it. Very responsive bass. I can make it very "Marcusy" if i want to. Great, great bass- i was fooling with it comparing to my F bass bn5- which is still the King of the hill around here, but for a Jazz bass, I am quite content. It also cost me $1700 used ( mint ) instead of $2750 ( for a UV Metro with a VTC ) Praise ye the LORD. ....praise him with stringed instruments and organs... tatudbassman
That's a Sadowsky? My dream basses are: Sadowsky 24/5, Lakland 55-94, and a MM Stingray "5". Lug has a pic of a nice "looking" guitar. That other would be a last resort before death. Vince "Every child is an artist. wraub
That Sadowsky is nice, but I do much prefer the look of the Status that Lug posted. Sorry, Roger. (and Dan) Peace, wraub I'm a lot more like I am now than I was when I got here.
