Tania
Is there a limit to the length of an Adat cable? I want to run an Adat line from an RME card, across the room to an interface. TIA!
gtrmac
I think it's 10 meters. I haven't seen anything more than 5 meter ADAT cables though. Mac Bowne G-Clef Acoustics Ltd. Osaka, Japan
S_Gould
I've got a 50 footer, HOSA sells it, it works. CAVEAT: I've only used it for monitoring, haven't done any critical listening/comparisons to see if it's introducing excessive jitter or other artifacts. I don't know if I'll ever try recording through it... Scott
miroslav
Well an ADAT optical cable is just a regular....fiber-optic cable. I believe that you can run those for exteamely long lenghts without any losses/problems as long as the cable is healthy. It's not the same as with audo cable that has all that capacitance/impeadance crap going on... miroslav - miroslavmusic.com "Just because it happened to you, it doesn't mean it's important."
