Thanks Scott - great suggestion and again nowhere near my radar. 7 pads passes the Uptown Funk test (four notes in the bassline, clap, whistle, rise). And two simultaneous sampled sounds is all I can address from my Nord's EXTERN sections (although there are workarounds for more).

 

Pros: audio in, USB-C power (not a proprietary PSU), battery-powered, cheaper than MC101

Cons: proprietary MIDI connector, 3.5mm audio connectors
