timwat
More in this MSN article. The claim of plaintiff DH is that JO and other defendants were going to see their half of Whole Oats Enterprises LLP to Primary Wave Music...who appears to be a company that purchases publishing rights from artists. Anyone familiar with Primary Wave Investment Management LLC? 1 Quote ..
Lindaru
I thought it was the end of an era when this was the first year in over 20 years we were not covered in snow by Thanksgiving. Now I know it is the beginning of the end of life as we remember it. 🤪
ProfD
Earlier this week, it was Steely Dan. The family of Walter Becker trying to cash in/out on his half of the dynamic duo. Fagen said, "back Jack...do it again". Now we have the H&O railroad maybe going off the tracks. More to follow... I'm never surprised when it comes to this aspect of the music business. For many decades, artists and musicians have heard about maintaining ownership of their intellectual property (publishing, mechanicals, etc.). Yet, it only takes hard times or a potential briefcase full of money or wire transfer to end up in court. I hope these fellas will be able to resolve this issue amicably. They were a great songwriting/composition pair at one moment in time.😎 1 Quote PD "The greatest thing you'll ever learn, is just to love and be loved in return."--E. ElmerJFudd
Hopefully predominantly not seeing eye to eye on a business matter. It sucks seeing long time partners, especially music makers, unable to settle things face to face over dinner or a beer. 1 Quote Yamaha CP88, Casio PX-
Baldwin Funster
Imagine losing a brother over this kind of thing. The Fogartys and the Bachmans come to mind. 1 Quote FunMachine.
ElmerJFudd
Oates apparently is ready to sell his stake in their partnership to Primary Wave IP Investment Management LLC. Hall says the plan violates their original agreement when they created Whole Oates Enterprises LLC. Apparently it’s a bit complex as Primary Wave has had some stake in their business for the last 15 years. Quote Yamaha CP88, Casio PX-
