Options for bitimbral dual manual clonewheel?

There's the Nord C1, Nord C2, and Nord C2d.

Those are all capable of 3 zones, the upper, lower, and lower bass (low 2 octaves). I have EXTENSIVE experience with this; I used to control a weird synth rig with a Nord C1 and then a C2.

The midi implementation isn't amazing, but it works.

The OP is looking for a dual manual clonewheel with the full range of sounds that can be played from the instrument internally.😎

This.  Not many dual manual organ beasties out there so start there.

I'm no organ purist by any means, but I find that I'm using organ tones almost constantly as a matter of due course these days -- either as a lead voice, or as a pad behind something else.  One of the reasons that led me to my current dual-controller (vs. dual manual) setup.  That, and I can't play organ parts well on a weighted keybed, nor piano parts well on an unweighted one.

Last night I played a full-in gig with an SK2/3300 provided. The organ sound was fine. They told me it could cover the piano, EP and clav parts. I’m glad I had the forethought to bring another keyboard with me because while the SK2 organ and Leslie combo was playable, the other sounds were horrible. It would have been so much better to just have my DMC-122/Gemini instead. GSI has still makes the DMC-122 but the Gemini is now an external module. But it fits right on top of the DMC and takes one MIDI cable to attach it. No big deal.

Your description of the SK2 was exactly my experience with it (and again with the SKXPro). I know people love them. It's just one of those things. The extra sounds feel almost insulting to me. The piano in particular; my old VK-8 was practically more usable. I'm sure those who have them are much better at drawing good sound from them.

Another Scott, Delaware Dave, and you, definitely have the DMC-122/Gemini on my radar; it would seem to fit the bill. I am just trying to find somewhere to put hands on (or rather, put hands on again, since I did touch it at NAMM a long time ago but wasn't considering it for my rig at the time).

Now out! "Mind the Gap," a 24-song album of new material.
