Amazing niche product (Standalone Modwheel/Pitch bend with other features as well)

This is interesting but I would need to interface my Yam BC3. Also, my vanity may be showing but I'm not sure I'd want to be seen on a gig with the contraption this guy uses! I remember getting teased the few times I wore the BC3. That was more in fun, this tube thing is just a little too weird. If I didn't have the BC3 I would sure consider something like this for the privacy of my home studio though!

As for other midi controls, since all my music-making goodies are laptop or i-device based, I'm going with TouchOSC - at least that's the plan for the moment. I guess I'll find out how well pitch bending and wiggle-wheeling lends itself to a touch screen, but I already have all the tools at my disposal to try it, vs embarking on an "arduous" (sorry!) adventure sourcing parts, soldering, and bugging people on an Arduino forum.

Even better, that's half of the problem solved already.

The other half involves converting the voltage (or resistance, capacitance etc) changes generated by BC3, to 8-bit MIDI messages, with a micro-controller like Arduino. This article might help:

This thing is tiny, with a nice brushed aluminum enclosure, not plastic as I thought when I looked at the pictures. I just got it, and now my expession pedal is connected to my iPad rig. It's working great. It has 1000x the functionality I'll ever need - there's quite a lot of programmability in this little box. I'm probably gonna put a dual footswitch into the EXP2 input for turning pages in forScore. It outputs both USB and 5-pin midi, the latter via a minijack, but they include a dongle to convert to DIN, as well as a USB cable for power and data. Happy camper so far.

Correct. I had to hunt around their website to find it too.

Your post made me look at their site too, there's a big brother to the one you grabbed, VERY pornographic!!

(Imagine in a larger midi network....)

Can't find any place to order these in Europe though...

Actively following this.     Still trying to find a way to control the  internal synth of Nord Electro 6;   which ends up being a bit of a Frankenstein thing to pull off the way Nord crippled the midi implementation.    Have an original MSC2 but that works  more for controlling external synths/modules from the Nord, and my NE6 rig is pretty limited for space.

Turned to Etsy for some solutions:  there is this for pitch, and several other vendors do mini-joysticks. I've bought  USB mini faders for Mainstage and those work great, this one looks promising , though seller has addressed the Nord issues.

Fellow Nord Electro users:  I follow this guy's great Nord channel and he's done couple of videos on ways to pull it off.
