Cool photo!  Cars make such great subjects since they exist in a world full of lights (traffic lights, other cars, neon signs etc) so adding lights of our own seems so appropriate.  I especially like the subtle lighting on the front bumper, wheels, fenders etc.

I'm not really clear on how you lit the two sides of the car's hood?

Crazy about the wind and the tripod!  The D750 is a heavy camera but I guess not heavy enough!  LOL

We had a winter storm roll through right before Christmas and I went downtown to do night photos by the Amtrak diesel shop.  I was up on a bridge and the wind was howling between two buildings and I was seriously worried it would whisk me right off the bridge to the tracks below!  I suppose they would have found my dead body frozen solid the next morning...  Probably the harshest windy conditions I can think of in my life.

I will see you in what, 2.5 weeks?  I am looking forward to a respite from all this band practice!

Yeah, I about two and a half weeks! Looking forward to it! Hopefully I can get my voice back before then. I had bad allergies, and then when I went to NAMM, I completely lost my voice while speaking above the din.

The light on the hood is spill from lighting the grille on the front of the car. I never really needed to light the hood any more than with that spill. You can see a little bit of spill from the red lights too!
