Michael W
IMHO, this is rather brilliant. I didn't change a word. Me, to ChatGPT (free version): Write lyrics for a song about going to the neighborhood carnival in the style of Jethro Tull. Chat GPT response: "Under the Big Top" (Verse 1) In the heart of the town, where the streets come alive, There's a carnival waiting, with wonders to derive. A carousel spinning, its music fills the air, A kaleidoscope of colors, a magical affair. (Chorus) Come join the parade, let the music ignite, At the neighborhood carnival, where day turns to night. Under the big top, the laughter rings true, In the arms of the circus, let your worries be few. (Verse 2) There's a fortune teller, with secrets to unfold, Reading ancient cards, her stories yet untold. Tightrope walkers dancing, defying gravity's might, With each daring step, they'll captivate your sight. (Chorus) Come join the parade, let the music ignite, At the neighborhood carnival, where day turns to night. Under the big top, the laughter rings true, In the arms of the circus, let your worries be few. (Bridge) Amidst the cotton candy haze, the scent of popcorn in the air, Children's laughter fills the night, as the moon begins to glare. And as the fire-eaters breathe their flames, the crowd holds its breath, In this circus of wonders, we escape from life's duress. (Verse 3) Stilt walkers towering, like giants in disguise, Acrobats twirling, painting dreams across the skies. Clowns with painted faces, spreading joy with every grin, In this whimsical carnival, the fun is about to begin. (Chorus) Come join the parade, let the music ignite, At the neighborhood carnival, where day turns to night. Under the big top, the laughter rings true, In the arms of the circus, let your worries be few. (Outro) As the moon bids farewell, and stars start to fade, We'll cherish these memories, the magic we've made. For in this neighborhood carnival, where dreams take flight, We find a moment's solace, in the midst of life's fight. 1 Quote Michael Montage 8, Logic Pro X, Omnisphere, Diva, Zebra 2, etc.

rogs
I asked Chat GPT what a '2-5-1' phrase was in music..... It came back with this: " In music theory and jazz harmony, the "2-5-1" progression is a common chord progression that is often used as a basis for improvisation and as a cadential progression in many genres, particularly jazz. It is also known as a "ii-V-I" progression. The numbers in "2-5-1" represent the scale degrees of the chords involved in the progression. Here's a breakdown of what each number represents: The "1" represents the tonic or the key center of the progression. It is typically a major chord and serves as the resolution point. The "2" represents the supertonic, which is the chord built on the second scale degree of the key. It is usually a minor seventh chord. The "5" represents the dominant, which is the chord built on the fifth scale degree. It is typically a dominant seventh chord. The final "1" represents the tonic again, but this time as a resolution point after the dominant chord. In the key of C major, for example, a typical "2-5-1" progression would be Dm7-G7-Cmaj7. The Dm7 is the ii (supertonic) chord, the G7 is the V (dominant) chord, and the Cmaj7 is the I (tonic) chord. The "2-5-1" progression is popular because it creates tension and resolution, providing a satisfying and predictable harmonic motion. Musicians often use it as a foundation for improvisation and as a way to navigate chord changes in a jazz standard or other compositions". Which I thought wasn't bad? But whether you can actually trust anything it says is a differnet matter.... I asked it to perform a simple technical calculation. It explained the formula it was going to use - correctly - and then did the calculation wrong.... 3 times, with 3 different results - all wrong! Kept apologising for errors when prompted, then advised 'here is the corrected calculation' - and got it wrong - again! Impressive in some respects...... very 'iffy' in others! Michael W
Here's another very interesting music creation AI site: AI Music Generator - Soundraw No need to register or log in - you can just start playing with it immediately. This kind of AI could end up replacing countless commercial music composers and a chunk of musicians. Go ahead and try this - it's just the beginning.
