Ivan May
Formed in Seattle, WA, in 1989, Alias was a short lived AOR/hard rock band comprising three members of Heart: drummer Michael DeRosier, bassist Steve Fossen and guitarist Roger Fisher, and the members of the Canadian AOR band Sheriff: Freddy Curci and Denny DeMarchi. Signed to Capitol Records in 1990, the group released their self titled debut that same year. It contained the Air Supply like ballad More Than Words Can Say, which climbed to #2. Oddly enough, Heart was peaking at #2 earlier that same year with their All I Want To Do Is Make Love To You. The follow up single, Waiting For Love, was also a minor hit, entering the top 40 in early 1991. However, overwhelmed by poor sales and bad critical reception, the group split up after the album came out. It’s a shame. I was a huge fan of Heart, but not so much a fan of Sheriff. I hope you guys like this band, though.
