"Hit-&-Run" thread questions . . .

I know I've raised this issue before, but it seems like every so often, we get someone who joins the Forums just long enough to post a question, and then disappear when they don't get an instant response.

 

Usually, they're in the form of "I have an XX and a YYY, but I can't get them to do something-or-other. What should I do?" or, "I'm trying to choose among several different Guitars, or Amps, or Effects, which should I get?"

 

Sometimes, these questions generate some interesting exchanges among the active members of the Forums, but that's all. I really have to wonder at this point, if I see a brand-new member, whose sole post is such a question, should I bother to even respond, anymore?

I feel your pain WP! It would be nice if the new one hit wonders member would respond in some way.  Perhaps a thank you on a technical question?  At least hit the "like" button so we all know they saw the comments and answers, if they concur or found what they were looking for.  I would like it if they would just come back and tell us which guitar they chose when they give us 5 to choose from LoL! 😎

The interwebz, it's only "sorta real" and mostly not so much. 

I enjoy it but I expect more or less nothing because (or unless) it happens.

I just flow with the changes in the forum. Some of us have been here quite a long time and  have interacted with others here for a long time. The newer steady crew has a completely different set of tastes and preferences in equipment and musical interests. But I still enjoy stopping in daily to see whats up.👍

I joined about 5 years ago, and I think there are only 2 people who have joined since then that are still here.

I am one of those who have responded to some of the "one hit wonders", and I rarely ever get a reply from them.  But I keep on doing it, because it keeps things from going stale here.

I don't expect to be thanked, but part of it is that we're just left wondering if our advice helped, or was even seen?

 

At the very least, as @Larryzsays, sometimes it would just be nice to know which Guitar they picked.
