dbhoosier
Hi there - I've been using a Nord Electro 6D for a while and recently bought the Yamaha YC88, which I'm loving, but it definitely doesn't have the sound library of the Nord. I'm needing a good honky-tonk / tack piano sound for the Yamaha and there's basically just an Upright piano sound - close but no cookie. Anyone Yamaha folks have any settings suggestions or know of any other solutions/options, as it doesn't look I can add more samples to the Yamaha like I can with the Nord. Maybe I'll just have to run the Nord sound engine through the Yamaha with MIDI to get it to work out, but thought I would ask this fine group of keyboardists first... mate stubb
Slap a fast and wide chorus (low feedback) on the upright to simulate detuning. Quote Moe ---
miden
The way I do it is run a layer - using the same piano (start usingone with a bright attack) for both layers then place them an octave apart and detune the top one about 30-50 cents..add other efx as needed Quote There is no luck - luck is simply the confluence of circumstance and co-incidence... Bobadohshe
We've been playing Good Vibrations and on my CP4 I'll actually layer a harpsichord under a piano (mixed low) to give it edgy rattle and bite. It's been working well. dbhoosier
Thanks for the feedback, everyone! I got a sound that works nicely by layering harpsichord with the upright piano sound, along with some effects. Much appreciated!
