She started hanging out with us as a 16-year old after her Dad (jazz trumpeter Don Cherry) toured with us in 1979 (he had Lou Reed's band along with him.) Also on the bill was Adrian Sherwood (On-U sound, Tackhead etc) and his reggae band Creation Rebel. Quite an eclectic tour. I played some bass and guitar on various Slits recordings, and augmented their touring line up. We never got to play Sweden, the nearest we got was a Helsinki festival in June 1980. phaeton
that still looks so weird seeing someone play a left-handed guitar... I mean, they don't make left-handed pianos, or drumsets, right? I never understood why to do a left handed guitar. Of anything, fretting with the dominant hand might be the thing to do. And otherwise, you have to learn the same muscle memory and skills no matter which way you hold the guitar. Dr. Seuss: The Original White Rapper . WWND? KenElevenShadows
I don't know how you would make a left-handed piano. As for drums, I see people setting up left-handed fairly often. I am left-handed but play a guitar right-handed. Seems okay to me. But if it felt uncomfortable or unnatural, then obviously the left-handed guitar would be the way to go. So I always assumed he was right handed, 'til I saw him writing something. I said (in a mock Liverpool accent) "How come you don't play bass southpaw, like Paul, ya know?" and he replied that writing is about the only thing he does left handed. But, it's different for everyone. "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
