Another meet up just outside Dusseldorf with Heinz Weierhorst today - builder of replacement power supplies for vintage synths and another extraordinary repair tech. Over several hours Heinz shared a whole lot of tech and such that almost all here would find boring, so I'll spare details. TBH some of it was over my head but suffice it to say he knows a whole lot of sh*t. And sorry, no pics this time as we met in a public place.

I did ask Heinz at one point about his parts source and he shared this with me:

Electric Druid

This attempts to summarize who's doing what with CEM and SSM chip re-issues. Pretty cool for those into vintage synths and continuation of potential future re-issue synths.

Once again a very open, warm and chatty encounter with an extraordinary knowledgeable tech/engineer. This place is alright!

I´m coming late to this thread, but I regret I couldn´t make it to the south of germany. Sorry !

Again, thx for the invitation!

Great reports and great pics, thx for sharing !

And now I bookmarked this Dusseldorf connection I didn´t know before just in case I might need a new PSU for my Oberheim Xpander.

Thank you very much !

:)

I'm doing a few dates with AWB in the Netherlands next month if anyone is close by. I can usually get one or two people on a guest list, though every venue is different with the # of guests we're allowed. Not much time to hang unfortunately.

November 16, Melkweg Max, Amsterdam

November 17, Neushoom, Leeuwarden

November 18, Podium de Vorstin, Hilversum

November 19, De Boerderij, Zoetemeer

Ah, too bad, can't make it, because I have to gig myself. Would have loved to see that. Must be a fun band to play in!

Yes it's big fun! When I was young I fantasized about playing in a similar band while playing bass along to their records! It's been a great run so far. I'm in the UK next month as well, anyone reading this thread that wants to hit me up for a guest pass is welcome though I can't guarantee things. Our schedule is here: https://www.averagewhiteband.com/tour/

Spent a wonderful afternoon with Rudy and his girlfriend in Groningen. Rudy played host to us tourists from America, showing us around the beautiful city and sharing a few hours of life in the Netherlands. Of course this included great food and fine beer.

Uploading pics is challenging in these far off lands, but I did manage a couple:

And finally...we spent an awesome evening in Paris with Maurizio. Resolved all international beer disputes and so the world is safe for a while. Great discussions on life in Paris and also ate some of the best pizza I've ever had- and that's coming from a New Yorker :o
