I'll bet the size is less annoying than their precious pretense of not capitalizing the first words of sentences. Oooooo, so edgy and subversive and unrestricted by sterile conventions. :rolleyes:

I can understand where this is coming from. I've made Blackfin based designs for audio synthesis myself over a decade ago (boards with very good DACs and the DSP on it where a lot cheaper than this "OP-Z" thingy, I must say).

 

In highschool there was this future engineer (me !) that did a lot of teenage engineering? including for sound synthesis, I get that type of interest.

 

Then there is the portability factor: at the time I would have liked to bring a little synthesizer on vacation, for instance. But I didn't have one...
