Les Mizzell
I've inherited a large chest of slightly vintage music books - best guess - 1900 to 1975 or so - mostly classical. I've not inventoried everything yet, but a decent amount of Schirmer, ballet accompaniment books, all sorts of other stuff ... While I've had some success with Ebay in the past, but I was selling "popular" music books at the time. Maybe a dealer would be a better way to go for these? Anybody had any experience with anybody that specializes in this? Les Mizzell ----------------------------------------------
TommyRude
Keep them together, go on the Roadshow and have some fun with it. Looks like they'll be down south this July. Maybe you have a hidden treasure trove? Bobadohshe
Most of it is probably worth very little. I've purchased lots of similar folios from libraries and thrift stores over the years. My copy of 'The Art Of Finger Dexterity' has the dates written from the original owner's practice - in this case the year 1933. Of course it's possible there are some unbelievable treasures in there but I think it's highly improbable - unless you have something signed by Gershwin himself! My advice would be to either try and sell the whole lot or to simply donate it.
