LeesKeys
I'm embarrassed to have to ask for help identifying one of the keyboards in my setup, circa 1978. My keyboards were set up in an L configuration. In the front is a Hammond model C with a Hohner clavinet on top. The other arm of the L includes a keyboard (in the background, with the right end of the keyboard against the brick wall) which I can't identify and don't recall as part of my setup. I also used a Fender Rhodes MkII which is beneath the unidentified keyboard and not in view. Any idea what this keyboard is? Click Pic
WillNeverPost
Looks like an ARP Omni to me, original vintage.
LeesKeys
Yes, that's what it is. Obviously I owned it and played it. And I thought my memory was still pretty good...
retrokeys
In those dark days of disco, you had to have one for the string parts (shudder.) In 1978 I had the same set up; Hammond, clav, Rhodes, and Omni along with a micro Korg.
LeesKeys
pretty amazing to think that today I use a 15 lb midi keyboard and laptop loaded with VSTs and even the most discriminating ear would have trouble differentiating between those sounds and my original 800+ lbs of gear. Reezekeys
Most non-discriminating ears would not have much trouble telling the difference - and your current setup would be judged as sounding much better than your original 800 lbs of gear. I know that's the truth with my current vs. old setup!
OB Dave
It would be in tune, for starters.
