clpete
I got a new lap top a while ago with Windows 10. I've been using my older Windows 7 lap top for the Editor. But it's going to die very soon. I've tried to load the editor to the new lap top. I have a disk and I tried to download it from Roland. I got an error on the disk and my anti virus wouldn't let it download. Has anybody been successful installing the editor and drivers on to Window 10? We play for free. We get paid to set up and tear down.

harmonizer
Moe, Did this information not help you with your XV-2020 and Win 7? https://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/2751227/Re_Roland_XV_tone_generator#Post2751227 Because the XV-2020 and XV-5050 are so similar, I would *think* we could figure out a way to get your XV-2020 working with Win7. clpete, you might see if these instructions help. Windows Vista, even though it was maligned at the time, introduced the new device driver model that is carried forward in Win7 and Win8. I don't know if the Windows 10 device driver model is similar to 7/8. I have my XV-5050 working with Windows 7. If either of you want me to look up any other config setting detail of what is on my PC, let me know.
clpete
Yeah, I got the editor to work with Windows 7 by installing a custom 64 bit driver. The problem I'm having now is that the Editor program itself will not load onto Windows 10. I haven't even tried to load the 64 bit driver. We play for free. We get paid to set up and tear down. harmonizer
For installing the editor program itself, you might just try copying the files. I am guessing it does not use any DLL files. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ C:\Program Files (x86)\Roland\XVEditor>cd \ C:\>dir XV*.dll /s Volume in drive C is Hard Drive Volume Serial Number is 52D3-3C90 File Not Found C:\>dir \"Program Files (x86)"\Roland\XVEditor Volume in drive C is Hard Drive Volume Serial Number is 52D3-3C90 Directory of C:\Program Files (x86)\Roland\XVEditor 01/16/2016 12:10 PM 01/16/2016 12:10 PM 01/16/2016 12:10 PM 01/16/2016 12:10 PM 01/16/2016 12:10 PM 03/02/2006 01:25 PM 1,617,920 XV-5050Editor.exe 03/02/2006 01:32 PM 1,732,608 XVLibrarian.exe 2 File(s) 3,350,528 bytes

Thanks!! Once the file was on my desktop I was able to get the folder open, find the exe file and get the program loaded. Now I need to deal with the driver. We play for free.
