Sir Rod Stewart

Recommended Posts

I just read that Rod Stewart was officially knighted, and is now Sir Roderick.

Congrats, of course, though as an American I don't relate to such things as much as a lot of Brits do, LOL.

Of course, we have Sir Paul (McCartney, of course). Are there any other British pop stars that have been knighted? Just out of curiosity.

We have our own royalty here: Duke Ellington, Count Basie, B.B. King the King of the Blues, Aretha Franklin the Queen of Soul......

+1 on OUR royalty, Eric.

The only other Brit that's been knighted I can think of is ELTON JOHN, who many joked SHOULD have been designated "DAME Elton". :D

But also congrats to "Sir Roderick". Wonder what Jeff Beck thinks of it all....

Sir Rod, I saw him live once at the Electric Factory in Philly with Ron Wood on guitar in Small Faces. He was never a favorite for me. But he is a journeyman musician. As far as his knighthood goes, well .......... Congrads Rod...
