Pat Azzarello
I bought a NUMA organ (used) and have had a great time with it, until I tried to use it as a MIDI controller / sound source with my DAW. First, everywhere I look people are saying the Studiologic support stinks, but I've always found better help in Keyboard Corner than with most manufacturers anyway, so I'm hoping someone here can help me. I'm using Sonar X3 and using the NUMA's MIDI output (not the USB) I know that I have to enable Dynamic Touch in order to send MIDI Data (which seems backward to me, but who am I to say). When I use the NUMA as a controller with Dynamic Touch engaged and play notes, I get a HUGE amount of extraneous data and it makes everything sound like a "forearm on the keyboard" smear. Here's a screenshot of me playing a quarter note C scale starting at bar 2. Screenshot If I only play with the drawbars or other CC's, I get "clean" MIDI. It also seems to be spewing huge amounts of other data out all the time. Any help here would be appreciated. I'm trying to get the most out of this board and it's frustrating the heck out of me. Thanks to all in advance. Pat Pat http://www.patazzarello.com
mate stubb
Do you have a midi loop? Midi output of the Numa connected to the computer and midi output of the computer going back to the Numa? Moe ---
Pat Azzarello
Do you have a midi loop? Midi output of the Numa connected to the computer and midi output of the computer going back to the Numa? I do, but I turned the pass through/echo functionality off in Sonar. I will try again unplugging the MIDI in cable. thanks - Stay tuned (not in the studio now - will try later this afternoon). Pat Azzarello
Mate Stubb Thanks, that helped. For some reason Sonar X3 always wants to pass the midi in through unless you turn it off in the project settings. Arghhhh... Anyone familiar with the update procedures??? Thanks - Pat Pat http://www.patazzarello.com
