Larryz
Hot rodded Fender Jag/Jazz/Strat influence with some Gibson pup concepts thrown in...very clean and very cool! Go get'em! Take care, Larryz
Caevan O’Shite
Go with the "soap-bar" equipped model; if ya need 'em both, get that one first. If they offer it with three "soap-bars", get THAT. Purely by coincidence, I stumbled on these: http://reverb.com/item/35353-reverend-jetstream-390-2006-black http://reverb.com/item/33438-reverend-warhawk-ii-390-red-floor-model http://reverb.com/item/8866-reverend-warhawk-iii-390-metallic-red-w-rosewood-fretboard-and-bigsby-vibrato http://www.diffusion-audio.com/xcart/Reverend-Ron-Asheton.html (Reverend makes a few "390" guitars...) Winston Psmith
Crap, I'd want HB's on the black/rosewood/tortie combo . . . not like I'll be ordering it anytime soon. Phloid
If they offer it with three "soap-bars", get THAT. Three soapbar guitars are very difficult to play without hitting the middle pickup.
Dannyalcatraz
It's all about technique. I don't have that problem with any of my 3-pup guitars. But I also don't expose a lot of pick playing surface. Sturgeon's 2nd Law, a.k.a. Phloid
It isn't just technique. It can also depend on the guitar and how deep the middle pickup is positioned. I don't have this problem with Strat-type guitars or the 3-pickup Les Pauls. The large P90 and large G&L MFD pickups are different. But I will stress that this has only been my experience with the guitars I have handled.
