Phil W
Great video...apparently it was crowd sourced so if you find another clip with the same lick... I'm definitely going to play it next gig (especially on a minor tune) and see if anyone laughs/smiles... http://philwbass.com

slowfinger
2345312... Just for my edgamacation - why is it not 123b42 etc? And how does one write intervals below the 1? Epi EB-3 G-K Backline 600 2 x Eden EX112

Griffinator
2345312... Just for my edgamacation - why is it not 123b42 etc? And how does one write intervals below the 1? 1) The lick starts on the 2nd tone of the scale, hence it's 2345312, not 12b34b3b71 2) One writes intervals below 1 by referencing them as 7, 6, etc. A bunch of loud, obnoxious music I USED to make with friends. jeremy c
Well, it could be the second note of a major scale, but it also could be the first note of a dorian scale. Without a context, it's hard to tell. Here's a nice version: [video:youtube] Free download of my cd!.
Phil W
I heard it more as a dorian type thing 1 2 b3 4 b3 b7 1 over a minor chord seventh chord - but could be either (or more) depending on context - dorian, tonic minor, major, dominant 671215612b34b3b712345312b7 1 b2 #2 b2 #5 b7 over IIIalt7? http://philwbass.com
