spotty
Never heard of this but the thought struck me. Has anyone ever heard of any discouragement of wearing rings when practicing / playing? The thought being that the pressure of the ring might cause the finger tendons to become inflamed or injured as a result of rubbing back and forth? Just curious? I don't think so - based on nothing I could find in google. M-Audio Axiom 61 Native Instruments B4 II Rhodes emulation Z3TA+ Hauptwerk
Steve Force
Good excuse for someone thinking about cheating.. But the only thing I take my ring off is when working around machines. Ever see what a machine can do to a finger with a ring to catch on? I have and it ain't pretty.. Joe Muscara
Pressure from a ring? I've never felt pressure from my ring, physically nor emotionally... "I'm so crazy, I don't know this is impossible! mate stubb
I used to wear rings in my early rock and roll days. Tip: don't pick up a cowbell and wail on it with a drumstick. Your rings will get flattened and will be painful to remove. Moe ---
CEB
I never could play guitar with rings on. Piano playing seems fine .... but I stink on guitar anyway. MonksDream
My wedding ring stays on. My pinky ring comes off because it distracts me. Instrumentation is meaningless - a song either stands on its own merit, or it requires bells and whistles to cover its lack of adequacy, much less quality. - kanker
stillplaying
Good excuse for someone thinking about cheating.. Forceman - I can see from your photo that "ya still got the mojo." I take my wedding ring off - never liked the feel when playing keyboard or guitar. I may be still gigging but my young family's taking its toil. I'm permanently knackered. In my case if a woman's dancing close enough to see I've no wedding ring on - she's be close enough to see the rings under my eyes. Those cougars know when the mojo's a no show. stillplaying
http://home.comcast.net/~mightyb3/libwrings.jpg So Jordan's finally shaved the goatee off. That's a good look. Is that taken from the new "movement to midi" iRings app he's pimping? I'm the piano player "off of" Borrowed Books.
Mr. Nightime
My wedding ring has been there for 12 years. I don't even notice it's there when I'm playing. Besides, if I take it off, the indentation on my finger is so noticible, that it just looks sad. I've tried wearing rings on other fingers, but have had them catch on the keys during a gliss, so I don't bother anymore. "In the beginning, Adam had the blues, 'cause he was lonesome. spotty
I confess the reason I don't wear a wedding ring now is I keep losing them. Last one I bought, I literally lost it within weeks. Maybe a ring tatoo would be best? haha M-Audio Axiom 61 Native Instruments B4 II Rhodes emulation Z3TA+ Hauptwerk
Eric Iverson
I just tried to remove my wedding ring, as an experiment, and couldn't do it. It never hindered my guitar or mandolin playing in anyway, nor caused any other problems. Maybe if I took up the piano....
