Zephyr
I've got one, great tone and flexibility for the price. I have only two negative things about it though: 1) The use of power scaling is wonderful, but if you drop the power too much, you lose the integrity of your low end. 2) Make sure you are plugged into a clean AC line, otherwise you'll get plenty of noise when you crank it. Other than that, it does anything Marshall that you want. Any specific questions? Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=810593 http://www.myspace.com/dandelavega
Terrell
I was curious about the voltage attenuator for the power tubes. What a cool idea! I would image there are drawbacks to going to low. Not enough power in, can't push and hold the woofer. Does it have a loop? Can you switch (decade) modes by foot switch? Is there a boost or anything like that? Is there any foot switch or control? I wonder why with all the top grade components he throws in, he doesn't clean the power or rectify?!?! The build materials seem to be top shelf! Zephyr
I have an older model, one that doesn't have a loop, but this new model has one. And if you want a footswitch for a boost and/or decade switching just ask Ben to put one in for you. He's very personable and can craft an amp to your specs. Well technically, no matter how much power filtering an amp has, if you're plugged into a dirty AC line, you're going to get noise. It's just that since the amp relies heavily on the first 12ax7 for distortion, by nature it will be more prone to microphonics and noise than other amps. But if you have a power conditioner it should fix the issue, I know I'm saving up for one. Never argue with an idiot. Terrell
The Amp show is in Austin sometime in March. I'm making a list of what I need to see this year.
desertbluesman
Nice looking amps, a little pricey for 12 watts. (Over 2 grand) I am still in love with my Hot Rod deluxe with a tube overdrive stomp in front total investment perhaps $525. It gives me the tone I like, but of course a tube change is essential right off the bat so add another $85 bucks. JJ's is what I use. dbm If it sounds good, it is good !! http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=143231&content=music
