Ross Brown
Today we will be playing a benefit gig. This was the only gig our new drummer could not make so we are playing with two fill in drummers that we have never played with before. The cool part is that one of the drummers is my 24yo son. We have never played together. I know he is a good drummer but I have not heard him play for over 5 years. He just left a band this spring (to raise a child) and he was excited to get to play. Turns out he has played about a third of the songs on our set list before. I was surprised. I'll try to get pictures of us together playing. (It is a long story that I will spare you. Just know that I am excited). "When I take a stroll down Jackass Lane it is usually to see someone that is already there" Mrs. Brown
Edro
It must be great to have other musicians in the family. Looking forward to seeing the pictures and reading about the gig.
moot
Wow. 2 generations on stage. Awesome Ross. "He is to music what Stevie Wonder is to photography." getz76 I have nothing nice to say so . . .
picker
Very cool, Ross, playing bass with your son the drummer. That ought to be a whole lotta fun. Do indeed tell us how it goes, and the pictures are a necessity. Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.
Cthulhu Fhtagn
I used to play with my son quite frequently. It was a lot of fun and nice to know all those guitar lessons didn't go to waste. Hoping you have a blast. Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn
moot
I hope to play with my son some day. He's 11 and wants to be a bass player - at least this week. Cthulhu Fhtagn
I hope to play with my grandson one day. I'm buying him a drum kit. More to piss off my son than anything else. EddiePlaysBass
We should send Ross Brown's son all over the US, the UK and the rest of Europe and get pics taken with the lot of us, and then someone could put up a website for it  On a serious note, and from another POV, I played in a band with my dad for a while and it was actually heaps of fun, despite what EVERYONE involved feared up front I'd do it again in a heartbeat, and we actually tried to, but so far no luck. Wally Malone
Ross, hope it is as enjoyable as when my dad and I played together. He is a drummer and still does the occasional gig at 82. Wally I have basses to play, places to be and good music to make!
Phil W
Great! I've started my son on drum lessons. Hopefully in a few years we'll be able to jam all the time. http://philwbass.com

TimR
I play a lot with my brother (drums) and dad (keys). My dad leads and has a huge array of signals: Nod of head - come in now. Nod of head - this is the bridge. Nod of head - bass solo. Nod of head - play faster. Nod of head - play slower. Nod of head - back to the top. Nod of the head - this is the end. I'd love to be able to say that each nod of the head is slightly different so it is easy to tell exactly what he is trying to convey, but after 20 years we're both still trying to spot any difference. It certainly makes for some interesting gigs. Hope you have as much fun as we do. TimR
You'd spot him easily. He looks exactly like me but older and has less hair. Aparently its quite a sight with me doing my chicken impression and him furiously nodding his head. Ross Brown
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e397/reifspano/Smileys/ttiwwp.gif Here are the picts. Sold out show. Most people he ever played for. Until recently I haven't really talked to him for about five years. He called me about 3 months ago when he became a father and told me he was ready to have a relationship again. He has been through a lot and is now doing very well. I am proud of him and glad to have him back. (He is a good drummer too!!) http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k220/jwisot01/Copyoflegionjefflookingbackatgraham.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k220/jwisot01/legiongrahamondrums.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k220/jwisot01/legiongraham.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k220/jwisot01/legionjeffandgrahambackstage.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k220/jwisot01/legionjeffandgraham.jpg "When I take a stroll down Jackass Lane it is usually to see someone that is already there" Mrs. Brown
Phil W
Great, great story. The pics make it seem so much immediate somehow. Build on the fact that you are in contact again - I'm sure you will. Ross Brown
Great pics Ross. You always look so serious man! Phil: A parents best revenge is always through their grandchildren. I try real hard to smile and look like I am having fun. Somehow the picts always get me when I am looking serious... I dance around when I play and try to get the rest of the band to smile and have fun. They do... davio
Somehow the picts always get me when I am looking serious... I hate when the Picts think I'm serious. They're always looking for a fight. http://www.wordinfo.info/words/images/Eng-hist-4-Celts-Romans.gif Looks like you had a good time, Ross. Glad to hear your son is coming around. I had a strained relationship with my dad for several years but ever since I got over myself I've been much happier.
