mdrs
Bob Sweet, of Sweet Sound Electronics, maker of the Mojo Vibe and other top shelf guitar effects pedals, is unfortunately going thru a terrible medical ordeal. He's been fighting squamous cell cancer in his neck for about 5 months. And, he's encountered some severe back problems caused by some of the cancer treatments he's been going thru. I spoke with Bob about 6 weeks ago, and he sounded great, but had just discovered the back problems. I've heard that since then, he's had to have back surgery, as well as the chemo and radiation treatments. Having been a life long musician, and then custom pedal maker, Bob never had medical insurance. So, he's getting thru his ordeal, as best he can. You can only imagine the financial burden he's currently under. I would encourage anyone who's heard of Bob, or the Ultra Vibe or Mojo Vibe, or any of his pedals, to check out his web site, and in particular to check out this recent article about what Bob is going thru. There are several ways to help Bob out. There are items on eBay being auctioned off to benefit Bob. Also, there is info in this article as to how you could send money directly to Bob via his paypal account. Here's a chance to help out a fellow guitarist, and brother who truely would appreciate our help. GOOD LUCK BOB....KEEP ON KEEP'IN ON!! Caevan O’Shite
That's rough, best to him, and I'll make a point to more strongly consider some of his wares should I be picking up something. And, if and when I can, I'll have to see about helping what little I might... Good lookin' out with the info here, Don... mdrs
Bob is a "one man band", in that he and he alone makes his pedals. Since he's been fighting this since about December '07, he's not been able to make more. I actually only met Bob when I called him to order a Mojo Vibe after Lee Phillips recommended his Ultra Vibe, which Bob made before he started making the Mojo. I have not been able to find a single Mojo Vibe anywhere. So, unfortunately, we can't really support Bob by buying his stuff, currently. I have seen a couple of his OD pedals around. But not the Mojo. As described in the article I posted a link to in my first post, if you wish to, you can support Bob by checking out the eBay auctions of "stuff" profits of which will go to Bob. You can also send him money via PayPal. I actually ordered a Mojo and some other stuff and paid via PayPal. After not hearing from Bob for about 6 weeks or so, I found out that apparently he's needed back surgery since I spoke with him. So, I e mailed him, and canceled my order, and told them to just keep the money. You don't have to make a big donation. I'd think that every little bit would be helpful. Fumblyfingers
Yes Doc I am sorry to hear this especially that he does not have insurance. I wonder why.......maybe he was screwed out of coverage somehow. I really wanted a Mojo myself. I tried calling him several times but was not successful in hearing back from him.
