But I just went out and got one of the fender standard cases for it and the keys don't even remotely fit in the lock.. am I missing something? Don't say it I'm taking pictures for you all right now and will answer all questions http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t7/derrickw710/100_0651Small.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t7/derrickw710/100_0649Small.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t7/derrickw710/100_0646Small.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t7/derrickw710/100_0645Small.jpg

Derrick1642607670
Oh sorry, I wasn't trying to imply it was because of the strat I was just killing two birds with one stone in this thread. But I don't think it will be as easy as exchanging the case since this was made for the old standard (The new standards have different cases) and this was the last one they had in stock, Its weird they were the wrong keys seeing as they were attached to the case. Derrick1642607670
Ok there's the pictures, the camera doesn't show it but the pick guard is almost cream with age and or smoke (I dig it). And by the way if this wasn't clear I bought the case new from a store and the guitar was from someone on craigslist so no relation.
BadLife
IF I get your drift here take the case back and request the proper keys that go with that case?
Derrick1642607670
Well I don't think there are any other keys at that store like I said this was the last case they had.
BadLife
I see in that case have them give you a discount for selling you a defective product. They should have the keys or be able to get them for you. They should be able to make this right. Was this a chain store like Guitar Center or a mom and pop place? At the least go tell them the situation and see what they can do for you.
Rampdog
My question is why do you even need keys for the case? The locks on those standard cases are cheesy at best... Or are you afraid it will get out while you're away? (or am I missing something?) If it ain't fun...why do it...? http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=778394&content=music
BadLife
Well in any case the store should correct the problem. But as you say Rampdog I never lock the case in fact I have no idea where the keys are anymore for most of them. I figure that if someone can gain access to the guitar case they could break the lock at their leisure anyway. That being said the store should at least give you a discount for the keys not working. I bought a case the other day and got a discount because it had some small scratches on it. It never hurts to ask all they can say is no. Of course I take that in to account the next time I need to buys something.
Derrick1642607670
Yeah I just got some money back, and I wasn't terribly worried about not being able to lock the case I just wanted to A. get a discount for wrong keys or B. Have the working keys in case I get into an odd situation where I need to lock it.
