Nik Kovacevic
Hi guys, I hope to start a music technology course in September and i would like to start reading up on that subject. Can anyone recommend a good read?Studio recording techniques, acoustic treatment books, soundproofing etc. Anything to do with studio recording and recording in general. Any recomendations are welcome. Thanks everyone!PeaceNik -Music Is The Soul Of Life-
DanS
Amazon has a pretty good selection of these types of books. I can't remember off hand which ones I've ordered. What we record in life, echoes in eternity. MOXF8, Electro 6D, XK1c, Motif XSr, PEKPER, Voyager, Univox MiniKorg. https://www.abandoned-film.com
ABECK
Check out a book called "Behind the Glass" It's basically a colletion of interviews from different producers. Even though it's from the producers perspective, they all pretty much get into engineering techniques as well.
ProfD
There is also the "Yamaha Sound Reinforcement", Craig Anderton's "Home Recording for Musicians", "The Mixing Handbook" just to name a few. Most music stores (Guitar Center) and big-box book stores (Borders, Barnes & Noble) carry related titles. Good luck and happy reading. linwood
For that, go down to Ethan Winer's forum. Tons of info there. Another good recording book I'd mention is Mixing With Your Mind. I had the chance of doing many sessions with it's author when we were much younger. Mike's an amazing "mixer." http://www.mixingwithyourmind.com/
Griffinator
Ethan's forum and The Project Studio forum are definitely going to be good resources for you here. Read as many of the existing threads as you can before you just barge in asking questions, you'll likely find that the info is already there... A bunch of loud, obnoxious music I USED to make with friends.
