Jeff Klopmeyer
David Torn, Andy Summers, Adrian Belew...there's a long way to go before you get near "the best". ;) Experiment, free your mind, and remember that you're going for sound, not performance. Don't let anything you've learned so far in regard to "how to play" stand in your way. - Jeff Marketing Communications for MI/Pro Audio My solo music and stuff They Stole My Crayon

KenElevenShadows
Daniel Lanois (who is playing Amoeba's for free next Wed. in L.A.) and Innocence Mission are two good examples of textural playing. The latter is more of a shimmery, delayed, ambient sort of thing, but the album "Glow" is a beautiful example of understated, beautiful guitar playing. offramp
Another good example--if you can still find it--is Frisell's playing on Lyle Mays' first solo album. Stunningly perfect for the compostions. I've upped my standards; now, up yours.
