robbue
I will be taking delivery of the Randall RM50 MTS series amp this Friday! I have been jamming on this amp for a week now at a local guitar shop and it sounds amazing. The modules I have tried sound beautiful! http://www.music123.com/Randall-RM50-MTS-1x12--50-Watt-Combo-Chassis-i91010.music The responsiveness and dynamics are top notch! I also picked up the following modules... Plexi Clean XTC Modern Ultra Lead Recto I will post some clips soon! Anyone else singing the Happy New Gear song? picker
How many modules will you amp hold at a time? I have seen them with two, three, and four. Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.
robbue
The RM50 holds two at a time. It's for the studio so having the 3-4 at a time deal wasnt a concern. robbue
They all sound really sweet. The only ones I didnt jive with were the "JTM", "Brown" and "Blackface" modules. Too flabby for me on the bottom end. The "Top Boost" is another favorite of mine and I will most likely pick that one up too. There will be George Lynch Modules coming out at NAMM this year too! fantasticsound
I remember when Seymour Duncan attempted to market this idea as the "Convertable". SD's company is wonderful, and they certainly make quality products, but as excited as I was to play it that amp came up way short of my expectations. I'd love to see one of the Randall's, with a few modules. How difficult is it to trade out modules? Do you need to tweak the bias or any other parameters to keep it happy from module to module? It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Neil Bergman Soundclick fntstcsnd

robbue
Neil, You basically unscrew two thumbscrews on each side of the module face plate and slide it out and slide in the next. No rebiasing needed. Very very easy to do. Gifthorse
Cool Rob, I am curious about these amps too. Egnator makes the modules for them and said they totally rock. I was over in his basement while his wife and this other guy were building the preamp modules. http://flagshipmile.dmusic.com/ http://www.myspace.com/gifthorse
Bluesape
Cool! Seems very well priced, too! Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!
Bluesape
Do I have this right - all tube, switchable modules, and no re-biasing? Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!

Caevan O’Shite
The modules are entirely preamp section, IIRC; the driver-tube ("phase-inverter") and output-tubes are in a fixed part of the amp that does not change with the modules. (It does have an all-tube output, right? Or am I remembering wrong?) If you changed the output and driver tubes, it would still be a good idea to check the bias.
