  1. I always thought that chorus was lame. Everyone said it was great but to me it sounded tinny and transistory.. Just sayin
  2. Myles you look hot in this picture, I didn't know you were Blonde heh. Happy Holidays!
  3. i cant wait to feel your love is a good one with the double stops. but no, it doesnt get easier than You really Got me..
  4. Myles, I just bought GT preamp tubes. I got an AT7 and 2 12ax7. Anyways, the 12 AX7 doesn't fit in my bivalve. it is too fat. I am baffled. Is it a bad tube or something? How can it not fit?
  5. Sometimes it is intimidating talking to people who know alot about something like tubes or amps, anything technical. The guy at JJ is sending me the tubes, but I felt a certain hostility. Like I am just some dumbass wasting his time because I am wrong. The reality is, I think I am right but I am not an expert. I hope I made the right choice, but that ringing feedback was pissing everyone off in the band, including myself and it didn't start until 4 days ago.
  6. Well, he is sending me new tubes. Did I make a mistake? I have never had an amp feedback when my volume on my guitar was off--and they didn't do this when I got them. Is this normal? I am not saying I know. When I tapped the top of the amp with the 34's there was no noise and no ANNOYING ringing feedback.
  7. Hey Myles, which tube is the phase inverter in a Bivalve? I am assuming the left one. Also, I wanted your opinion on my tubes. I had the Kt77's in and after 2 weeks my guitar started to feedback even when my guitar volume was turned off. Then when I tapped the top of the amp it sounded like a microphone. I put in the EL34's and it no longer fed back and no longer had the microphone thing. So I am assuming my Kt77's are microphonic. The guy at eurotubes is sending me new ones, but he said it has never happened 1 time to him with Kt77's. I just don't know what else could be wrong. I ruled out a bad preamp tube because the El34's had no problem.
  8. I sent Brett Garsed an email about the Flexi and he returned it. Nice person, incredible player. You ever hear his stuff Myles? Damn, that guy can play like a sumbitch. Definately world class on every level. I would love to see a tour with Brett Garsed, Eric Johnson, Hellecasters, Junior Brown. Tell me that wouldn't be a badass show?? OK no more clutter in the Myles forum, sorry.
  9. By the way, I am sorry to hear about Dr. Z's amp tech dying. Sad news, I am sure he was a classy guy.
  10. Myles, I was wondering. I have read a bunch of people, including Allan Holdsworth who use an attenuater outside of the one in the UNI or BIvalve. Is there a reason? Is the hotplate the same in the Bivalve as the regular Hotplate? I ordered some JJ KT 77's this week after reading countless positive reviews from people who are using them. The KT88's you suggested are next, I just wanted to get something a little closer to the E34L. My singer just bought an Airbrake for his VHT online. You said that the Airbrake is better than the hotplate. God after hearing the Brett Garsed clips of the Flexi 50 it makes me one to get one of those too. Any comments on the Flexi? How do you think the Flexi compares to the competition for the price?
  11. I figured as such. Would you say that the Bivalve is a very unique amp? I mean is the tone easily identified to you? Is there a bottleneck in its design that you dislike? Dude, you are a very admirable/generous person with the knowledge you possess. Thanks for everything in this forum and otherwise.
  12. Myles you know I am stoked about the Bivalve. BUt am I missing out? Is there something better for me? I can't wait to hear the 65/45 with the airbrake.
  13. Hmmn, well it shows you what I know. I can play some stuff like Eddie I think, or I have been told. Maybe thats why it sounds like that to me. SO the Marshall would sound bigger than the Bivalve? What about todays DSL and TSL Marshalls? My Bivalve seems to have better low end and cuts more. Damnit, I wish I could come over and check out your amps and hear a bunch of talk that is way over my head.
  14. Hey Myles I was curious. DO you think it is possible to emulate the first VH 1 sound with a Bivalve? I think it is, but some other guy is arguing saying it won't be possible. I know it doesn't matter, I don't play any Van Halen in my band. It is just the childhood fantasy of playing Unchained and having it exact! With the 6L6 it sounds identical if I crank the volume. The El34 sounded a little to fuzzed.
  15. Hey Myles I just put some Ruby 6L6 tubes in my Bivalve and I have been in a good mood ever since. It sounds better than it did with the EL 34's. My buddy is now recommending KT77's. I was just commenting and curious what are the best KT88's and KT77's in your opinion?
  16. Myles, I ran the output from my Bivalve to the delay and preamp boost and then back into the return and nothing happened. I mean, no signal I tried to run the preamp through the front and it didn't have the same volume boost effect. It got a bit louder but with more distortion and hiss. Thanks
  17. Thanks again Myles. I will try this. God it would rule if Dr.Z made an amp with a built in attenuator.
  18. Cool, you mean use that like and effect out-- Pardon me for my ignorance, but I am assuming you mean using the line out, then in to the effect then out back into the return of the loop. Unless you are just saying to use the amp as a preamp to a poweramp.
  19. Interesting Cave, didn't think of that. Thanks for forwarding my cause!! Actually the tone isn't 'bad' through the loop. I feel like I lose about 8% of the tone.. I mean it still sounds great, but there is some loss. It is annoying but if I hadn't had my singer unplug it and plug it back in, I wouldn't be as sensitive to it. I can hear little subtleties and it drives me nuts, but either way it is a world better sounding than my last amp setup. That would rock if I could have Bruce egnater tweak my pedal to adjust something to make it more transparent. The DOD through the loop has worked AWESOME through every amp I have tried. It totally adds the right stuff for a solo. LIttle bit of gain, same tone or more highs if you want, right amount of volume boost. This is the first time I have seen it alter the tone. I love this amp though.
  20. Ok one more easy question. I don't have the budget of Carl unfortunately. I am already in the hole for buying this rig. What about a VHT Valvulator. I think it is supposed to help with this problem. Are you aware of these and their functions?
  21. Myles, I know you are sick of hearing from me, but I have a problem with my Bivalve setup. I am running a DOD bifet preamp (second) and a Danecho in the loop. The preamp is to boost my solos. I have tried the preamp 1rst and it is similar. Anyways, tonight I had my singer plug and unplug the cords to the FX loop. I definately can notice a difference. It just seems more subtley compressed (more soupy) and not as in your face when I run through the loop. When the loop is unplugged it is killer. Through the front of the amp I am running a crybaby and a phase 90. I am not having the problem there (to the best of knowledge). Anyways I hate the idea of losing something after spending the coin to have a killer tone. The bifet never messed with the tone when I had my Peavey Classic. I am confused as to why it does now (I mean when it is not ON). I tried a Boss digital delay instead of the Danecho and it sounded a bit more hissy. I am not sure if it may be the amp not liking the DOD bifet preamp. I have already spent alot of money and I want this thing air tight. I trust you and I know you are a Amp/Tube god!! What should I do to accomplish my goal of great tone with effects through the loop of the Bivalve?
  22. Myles, I have been looking at your site trying to find info on different uni/bivalve tube configs. I love the way it sounds right now with the stock tubes (2 el34 and 2 12ax7), but I haev heard it can get even better!! What would mixing a 6L6 and one of those GT mullard reissue el34 sound like with 2 12 ax7 GT compared with my current stock setup? Or 2 GT El 34 and 12 ax7 instead of the ones in my amp now. I am overwhelmed. Too many choices not enough exacting descriptions at the THD website. I get confused with all the numbers and letters. I wish they would just name the tubes 'names' like Henry tubes, or Sally tubes, Geoffrey (I always pronounce this JeeOffrey). Anyways, things would be easier.. I am curious what tubes I should buy. The guy who sold it to me (bivalve) included 1 Philco 6k6. Would this tube be cool mixed with an El 34 with the lo Volt setting? Anyways, thanks again. I LOVE THIS AMP!! The Z best cab is incredible too and I use it on its side.. The cool thing is the Z becomes an N like the first letter of my last name!! This amp/cab was made for me!!
  23. Hey Myles, I sent you an email to the yahoo adress. Anyways, I don't like the amp I just got and am sending it back. Is teh Univalve loud enough for live performance? I mean if you were me would you buy a bivalve instead?
  24. Which one is the cheese? Heh, thanks again dude. I may just have to get the bivalve and a combo for clean. Any cheap combos with a decent clean sound?
