  1. Hi !

Just in case you're interested on listening this.

I am currently producing a Mexican Dance Artist named "El Chan". His style is Latin/Dance music.

You can try the first DEMO release at:

    http://trax.iuma.com

... just at the right of the main picture.

The song is called "EL CHAKA CHAKA" (Shake-Shake). A mmtss-mmtss-mmtss dance song with a latin taste. For easy listeners only.

All of the other tunes (with the exception of "The B Side Wins Again REMIX" from PUBLIC ENEMY for the www.slamjamz.com project) are of my band, TRAX.

Thanks in advance to the possible visitors.

    Welcome !!! http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

You have the right tools to start: SoundCard, sequencer and soundfonts (actually is like having a sampler)... go for it !

Feel free to ask whatever you require to know. However I do recommend you to read all the past threads to see what has been discussed previously.

    Dan,

Thanks so much for your words. I don't have direct distribution of my CD in the US so I will be honored on giving a copy of it to you as a gift, just like I have been doing to my fellows outside of Mexico.

Just e-mail me your address so I can UPS one copy right tomorrow. I can Include a letter allowing you legally to copy it, and a MS WORD file with the cover so you can print copies for your friends.

If your friends are top A&R executives, man, would be a plus http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

    You ROCK!!!

    Dan

Actually, Sir, we do POP http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/wink.gif

Hey, I have just listened "RAIN DANCE". Tell me what did you use for it... sounds amazing!! I did not know you liked to use electronics in your tunes. Surprises...

Well, I started listening to some of our new friends.

I was surprised about the quality of all of them ! I'm glad I can talk here to such great musicians from all over the world. I don't care here are not any "pro´s" if "pro" means having a formal music major and doing a living exclusively from music.

Here are some comments, starting with Mr. Bryce:

Dave Bryce: I wish I could sound (yes, I'm talking about the Mix of "Evil Genius") someday like you. Such a great stereo experience. I read some lines above to someone asking for a rundown on how you did it... try it. The other songs were great too, but this one is excellent.

StevieB: "Black Holes are Black" made me wish to enroll NASA. Great song. Well, I'm a fan now http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/wink.gif

DanSouth: Man, you're a musician ! (that's a compliment) That Concerto is something I wish I could hear more frequently from other musicians. Bravo.

DJ Rezolution: Good dance music. It's a bad thing Dave did not like those "cliche" sounds. Perhaps being a little more involved in sound design could help you a little to make your own style, but that's about production. Talking about music, I enjoyed it a lot.

    That's it by the moment.

Can some of you pay a visit to my site and tell me your comments?

We are a commercial Electronic Pop band. I make all of the music and production.

Try "Wake Up" and "Llevame". Those are the best (or perhaps are not as bad as the rest) tunes, according to some feedback from our fans (yes, we do have fans around the globe... http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif )

By the way, Dave, Thanks a lot for the nice comments you sent me about them. http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/smile.gif

  5. Hello !

Well... I am Gustavo G Lozada. Mexican, 29 years old. Capricorn.

Industrial Engineer with a Master Degree in Businees Administration.

I do currently work in the (supposed to be) the number one Denim Manufacturing company in Mexico, as the Corporate Materials Manager... this is where I get my income to make a living.

About music... I have played keyboards since I was 6. I started playing in (cover) bands in 1986... until 1992 when I created my own electronic Pop band, TraX (hey, the name was pretty fine for Mexico). We started playing covers and did so from 1992 to 1997. Then we were forced to do a living in the real world... but music is our life. My band folks are living in different cities than mine, but we decided it was finally time to compose our own material and after that, try to get a record label to distribute our music.

I did record and produced all of our material at home, using eveything I learned by reading Keyboard Mag. (Well, I had a little extra of help by attending some classes at the MI's KIT in Hollywood) http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I have worked with some fine mexican producers, basically as their "trainee" to learn a bit about the market.

We have not reached yet our goal as a band, but our team is working hard.

We do play some live gigs just for promotional purposes and to get ready just in case the big day comes...

Check out our web sites for more information and sample MP3's:

    Spanish: http://trax.iuma.com

    English: http://www.mp3.com/trax_mx

    Europe: http://go.to/trax_online

It has been a pleasure to read you all.

  6. Hi

Check these ones from a Mexican Electronic Pop band (mine, of course):

    http://trax.iuma.com (in spanish)

    http://www.mp3.com/trax_mx (in English)

This music was made entirely with keyboards computers and some guitars and is 100% oriented to the mexican pop tastes. I can tell I learned everything I used to do my demo's by reading keyboard magazine... then tell me what do you think about it... have some mercy, please.
