  1. Two recordings of the Rumbler. https://app.box.com/shared/static/i00k6jodiw5pkqratyzrnal5jwry0q6f.mp3 https://app.box.com/shared/static/bru5puvtm20ojh5r11enrdcvxnvjdg6v.mp3
  2. I have a Kala Rumbler, love it. I even used it on one song on last studio recording. They definitely take a bit of getting used to but can sound great. They are prone to feedback at high volume.
  3. Congrats! I have the tiny Double 4 and find it just amazing, love Phil Jones stuff! The MiniMega had a bad initial run but have been solid since. I've run the MiniMax (it's little brother) for several years and it's been solid. As far as Carvin's go, I think their neck profiles are an absolute dream.
  4. Hmm, I have a birthday coming up ... *checks wife and kids*
  5. When my kids first bought me a bass I told them "I KNEW I had you bunch for a reason!"
  6. I also owned a Peavey Hernia, and for a good long time. I put wheels on it. Still heavy. I put side handles on it. Still heavy. I even put a tweeter in it, which added a lovely hiss noise. Still heavy. But it fit into my first generation Mazda RX 7. Wish I still had that car. I bought mine used, and it came with an even heavier EV speaker that sounded great. I put it on top of an 18" cab with another EV in it. F'n great! The 18" cab did not fit into the Mazda. Those 200/300 watt numbers were very, very conservative. It was loud. I had a Series 1 RX7, probably my favorite car I ever owned!
  7. I remember being the lone voice in the wind about Peavey T40's. Now all the hipsters have figured it out.
  8. Pro tip: sharpen your tuning keys to a razors edge. I never implied that ALL the blood had to be your enemies..................
  9. Pro tip: sharpen your tuning keys to a razors edge.
  10. The red matches the blood of your enemies, so it's got that going for it!
  11. Current effects are the chord to my amp. I'm currently in a Blues band so it's pretty much a requirement.
  12. One might say you have a plethora of red basses.
  13. Come on, is that a real question??????
  14. Thanks! That's one of the original CIJ Jags. They are the only ones with the Slim C neck and set up similar to a Jazz bass (2 single coil pups). Get a LOT of my playing time now.
  15. The point is for us to post our red basses!
  16. I am still alive, much to the chagrin of any music lover on the planet.
  17. Me too, I love it simple. So much easier to figure out if you have a problem and the tone is more "pure" for want of a better word. More importantly, I never look at the floor and wonder what I should do. I don't have enough options for a learning curve. I often look at the floor and wonder what I should do when I play. I use no pedals at all.
  18. My L2000 will do the same. But when smash time comes, out comes my T40s.
  19. This is the best forum to discuss these topics.
  20. Going all the way through the first one, that is one versatile pickup! Lot's of useable "tones" with just a tone knob. Thank goodness you followed my above advice!
  21. Listen to things I have posted in the past. Do the exact opposite.
  22. "Flattening the Lug" Well, this down time is definitely "Fattening the Lug", that's for sure.
  23. If there is only one positive out of all of this, it's that I'm no longer allowed to foist my "playing" upon an unsuspecting public.
  24. I'm just curious to know if you've experienced any undue knuckle hair growth or a strange desire to steal your bandmate's beer?
