  1. Do you mean Rhodes/Wurli etc or acoustic piano sound? Because that's a huge difference.
  2. That's fine since I want stereo, but then I end up with a big and heavy system again, don't I? (Like my model 2)
  3. Thank you! Is there anything you've tried and would recommend? Also, is the new pro8 any better?
  4. Hi there! I have a Bose L1 Model 2 which is crystal clear and nicely spreading, however it's too big and heavy and I lack the stereo. I was using it for AP sounds for my Yamaha Cp4. I was wondering if the smaller Bose L1 Compact is as (or nearly as) nice and clean sounding as the Model 2. I was wondering if anyone has any experience comparing them side by side? I was thinking of either using two compacts or one compact for spreading and one EV ZXA1 as a floor monitor for jazz-trio setting in small places.
  5. Could you read the OP before commenting? As I've said two times already: NO FOH, NO panning. You are talking about a compleeetely different situation. In my setup, the speakers are behind me, close together. No huge stage. No outdoor festival. (No soundguy.)
  6. True, but OP was not about this. It was about speaker placement.
  7. Yes, you were and thank you for that. You were among the very few. The majority of the comments are still about doing it in mono. And also talking about FOH and as an audience sitting in front of the right channel, which is not at all the case here etc.. Either they haven't read the OP or they are just ignorant.
  8. Thanks everyone for the answers, I appreciate it. However this thread wasn't meant to be another stereo vs mono discussion. As I said in my first post this is a situation when there's no FOH. Close to acoustic jazz-band situation. And I'm curious about speaker placement/setup for stereo sound. As I've also said: no extreme panning, just the spaciousness of the stereo, as I hear it from a real piano too.
  9. Hi there! I couldn't find any threads about stereo speaker placement. My idea is that as there are several ways to miking something in stereo (AB, XY, Ortf, etc..) maybe someone tried this already with a pair of PA speakers too. Anyone has any experience? I'm thinking about situations where you bring your own amp to the gig and that's how the audience, band members and I hear myself. I'm kind of always using XY, so they are a bit far from each other, behind me. But what if I put them right next to each other and they face slightly away? Or I put one on the top of the other and do the same? Or maybe right next to each other and a bit facing one another. I don't want wild stereo panning, just a full/rich stereo-sound for AP,Rhodes,Synth. This way the sound would come from one place, a bit like with CPS V.3 (which I also have but the sound is not very detailed and too coloured.) So if anyone tried fooling around with speaker-placement, I'm really interested in the outcome.
  10. Thank you everyone for all the shared experiences! I'm not even sure if I should choose 8" or 10" speakers? I guess I'd need to take all the different speakers to a gig to find it out, which is of course not possible. But it's even hard to find a place that has all of them so I could try them out. It's so hard to choose blindfolded. Well considering I'd need two of them, they are unfortunately still out of my price range, but maybe later.. Here I can buy them in the city, and their price is not even that much higher than that of the IQ's. Would you think they worth a try? Yes, older models are sh*t but the new one didn't sound so bad to me. They were ok, as you've also said.
  11. Hi there! Anyone can share their experience playing AP sounds through these? I'm still looking for amp, mostly acoustic piano sounds from my CP4 at experimenting jazz gigs, can get a bit loud sometimes. I would need even, flat response, wide spread and stereo! What I'm basically looking for is to fake a real piano when there's none. Best experience was always with 2 active speakers in stereo. I'm occasionally using a Nord lead 2x, so I was thinking maybe 10". Am I right to think that? I originally wanted to buy QSC K.2-s but they are out of stock everywhere in Europe since ages. My best experience so far was with L-acoustics speakers, very nice and warm sound, unfortunately out of my price range. For now I have a Spacestation v.3 and a Bose L1 Model II. Spacestation is honky, Bose is crystal clear however I very much miss the stereo and it's some stuff to carry around. I'm very interested in the Turbosound IQ, I've heard good reviews, and that it's a good alternative for the QSC k.2, and yet not a lot of people talk about them here. I'm also considering EV ZXA1 and Yamaha DXR-s. I've also had a surprisingly good experience with a pair of JBL EON 615. (Though I would not buy 15") I've seen they now have the eon 7. Anyone can shed some light? Maybe a shootout from the Turbosound? Thank you in advance!
