  1. My first keyboards in 2003 were a Casio PT-80 and a Casio SA-39, later followed by a Casio SA-75. All gifts from my uncle who had a competitor brand keyboard that I played when I went to his house, it was a Yamaha PSS-270. I also had a RadioShack keyboard which was my grandmother's which was a clone of the Casio LK-43. I also have had the following: CTK-1100/3000/6200. I now have these Casio models: CT-X3000, WK-7600, SK-1 (from a thrift shop for $4). I always have wanted an older HT, CT, HZ, MT model or CZ-101/230s.
  2. I personally enjoy Chinese and Asian made products, so Behringer is a plus in my book. There are some questionable actions Uli has done, but I don"t let that make it seem like he"s a horrible person, he actually seems like he"s very nice, he just uses a lot of older synth designs. I personally am looking at the DeepMind, Model D, MS-1, and VC340, among their other stuff. I was always into cheaper gear, so Behringer fits in that role. I hope they make a workstation that"s different from the Big 4 (Yarolorg (Yamaha/Roland/Korg)) and Casio, yes I consider Casio a big brand).
  3. The SY77 and SY99 were more popular in Asia. Especially Indonesia, India, China, and Vietnam, they loved those FM sounds back in the 90"s. They loved the sitar preset and used it alongside the DX7, D-50, S-50, and M1 among other gear. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RNUYS0itrVE These have some SY77 (as well as D-50, M1, and DX7).
  4. I am too young to remember the VL-1 and SK-1, but I remember when I was a little kid I had a Casio SA-75. I do have an SK-1 though.
  5. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/386355063565713408/711247673537331240/Pizza_Song.mp3 Accordion from my Synth1 Soundbank I made.
  6. Nice score! I"ve always liked those combo organs.
  7. I ended up joining a band last year due to one of my friends telling me about a band that was looking for members. I started with my Minilogue for 2 gigs, but it wouldn"t cut through the heavy rhythm section (both electric and acoustic drums, percussion, bass, digital piano, and guitar). I now gig with my MX49. The only issue I have is most of the songs we play are current Top 40 type stuff. Not so much oldies and foreign music (but the latter that we probably couldn"t do) that I"m a fan of. The bandleader/guitarist (who is very nice, he actually plays tons of instruments and has made several albums and composed and written tons of songs and was able to understand my MX49 not cutting through in the mix when I let him know) said we can add some suggestions for sometime in the future. My bandmates were thinking of The Final Countdown, Another One Bites The Dust, and 24K Magic.
  8. I think this and their CS-80 clone will give relief to all the synth players out there who can"t afford a Deckard"s Dream, River, or OB-6 hope. I think they will be a bit pricier but still under $1000. So like about DeepMind 12 price at the least.
  9. Wow I can recognize the Motif sounds from my MX49. @Bosendorphen
  10. I feel like I"d want one just so I can make the cheesy dated DX sounds like the quacky brass (not to be confused with such from the Juno-106) and harmonica with pitch bend, and e piano. I love that e piano sound as Staccato off beat chords in between the 1 & 2, 2 & 3, 3 & 4, and 4 & 1 (sort of like reggae or ska). Also that harmonica is good for the music I make and the brass is super punchy. Along with a Reface CS, the DX is good.
  11. A: B: Band"s Visit, The C: Celtic Woman D: E: F: Fiddler On The Roof G: H: I: J: Jersey Boys K: L: M: N: National Symphony Orchestra (NSO for short) O: P: Q: R: S: T: U: V: W: X: Y: Z: Mostly musicals that I saw recently. I saw Celtic Woman as a kid, and the NSO several times, always loved the different kinds of strings and woodwinds. That"s not counting the free outdoor concerts I went to when I was a little kid in a shopping center near where I live called Kingstowne. Those were all mostly world, folk, and local popular artists. This was in the mid 2000"s, there were several bands who had accordion, and a few with synth and keys players, I remember a cumbia band with a guy rocking a Poly-800 for brass sounds and a French band with a piano accordion. Also quite a few Celtic groups with these: Northumbrian smallpipes, Uillean pipes, and Highland pipes. I can"t remember any of the bands names. Ok Those that I"ve gigged with A: B: C: D: E: F: G: H: I: J: K: L: M: N: Neurodiversity O: P: Q: R: S: T: U: V: W: X: Y: Z:
  12. Made a 4 bar fanfare type thing. https://soundcloud.com/pigeon-city/sketsa-jai-bajawajai-bajawa-sketch/
  13. Happy Birdthday from a fellow No. VA resident.
  14. It's an Irish bouzouki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_bouzouki Minor brag: Beth is listed in the Wiki article as one of the instrument's "notable players." We'll see if the rubber chicken video effects her status in the community... For the rubber chickens, I noticed with regular rubber chicken videos as well that the chicken is pitch shifted and sampled. You 2 obviously have a lot of talent. Cool about the Irish bouzouki. I heard it"s similar to the octave mandolin.
  15. https://soundcloud.com/pigeon-city/80s-style-synth-music-3 My 3rd 80"s Style track and first synthwave/Italo disco track.
  16. Casio CT-X3000 with Yamaha MX49 as a tie. I couldn"t choose only one.
  17. I couldn"t make it. Not a fan of that music. It sounds like cow dung.
  18. That made me literally LOL real hard. Especially the one with the chickens. I have one like those 2 but it"s much bigger... What"s that 8 stringed instrument? Is that a Portuguese fado guitar or a mandocello?
  19. Can"t post pictures because they are too big, but here"s edit: my whole gear list.804.pdf
  20. I found this picture online of the composer Raphael Pesqua"s studio and I would love to know what it is. It"s from around 1990-1995 or maybe later.
  21. Maybe the Minilogue. If possible, could nail other synth sounds you"d need too. It can make some sounds that remind me of the Moogs, ARPs,, MS-20, Juno, JX, and Prophet-5/OB-Xa. Edit: the only other ones I can think of are the JD-Xi, Mininova, Ultranova, and Microkorg as well, all good VA options.
