  1. Audio recorders H4N, video recorders Q3 and Q3N, and now Q2N, and an L-12 Live Trak recorder all still work and no glitches. Quality stuff at decent prices.

    I vouch for their products.

Those are Zoom products, not Samson. I have a few of those and love them all. Zoom makes great equipment. Samson makes very good equipment.

I stand corrected.. They came from Sam Ash and I committed a brain fart.

  2. Tried to enjoy it but both video and audio dropouts were disgusting. Had to restart 4 times in the first 10 minutes, then I I tried audio only.........no joy there ether. I thought his B sounded squirrelly on C3 slow Leslie, but that I"m blaming on transmission issues.

  3. On the first button above ; I'm sure I'm in the minority when I say that I actually liked both Rick Astley's hits. They were actually in my vocal range and they were dance hits at every wedding I played. The problem was they were so homogenus that I used to sing the verse of "Together Forever" with

"Never Gonna Give You Up" and then wound up trying to end the damn thing with some semblence of musical thought. Those songs made him comfortable for his lifetime, and I got a lot of work because of them.

  4. Drones (and R/C), diecast, and (since grandkids) Lego have been a priority, and my wife has banned these from the rest of the house, so my studio is jammed with , eh, stuff.

I own a 2002 Chevy Avalanche which explains most of this, but the drone shelf was overflowing, so they're mixed in here. The Lego is great for STEM teaching and the grandkids help in the assembly

I started with R/C helicopters 15 years ago - I didn't know how hard they were - but the VTOLS are interesting challenges and a nice change of pace.

Yup, big McHale's Navy freak. Got 'em all on DVD and still watch 'em. I'd love to find out who played tuba when Frank Comstock re-arranged the theme song in season three and kicked it into a swing style.

More odds and ends, but those are the biggies.

  5. Here's how I attempt it:

I almost always use a whistle stop to grab their attention, and pretty much play detached since a constant bombardment of sound bores audiences quickly. Dynamics are a key part, as well as accuracy (whereby arthritis doesn't help). Above all DON'T RUSH! They're called ballads for a reason. I also throw in quotes just to see who is paying attention.

    Hope this helps.

  6. Many thanks to Sam and Joe for organizing and maintaining the latest hang. I made an appearance last night, and today after the SpaceX launch I decided to log on again, and much to my surprise I had a private audience with the Pope ( well, it was Bryce and me). I didn"t know he was a New Jersey native, but I don"t hold that against him. Needless to say MPN will be in great shape with him at the helm.

  7. I had the original H4, then stepped up to the H4N. I then went with their small form factor video cameras, beta resting the Q3, then the supposedly improved Q3N, because they used the same audio capsules the N series used. My latest is their Q2N, but I"m looking at the 4K version. If you use their auto volume you"ll get a soft recording, but if you manually control and keep an eye on the meter you will get way better than expected audio.
