Im also curious what ABECK is getting so excited about as he's got the same rhodes sounds in the Gemimi module in his DMC-122 controller.Are the sounds more refined or diferent in some way in the Seven? I thought Guido said back in this thread that the sounds are the same as in the Gemini ( When they are coincident.) So ABECK what are you hearing man?

Regarding the wooden case (or in this case THE case) instead of the edges being a sharp 90 degree angle it would be sleeker to make them slightly curved. May-be with a 15mm radius. Would give it more of a Wurlie vibe - less coffin like. And when totted around would be more able to stand up to the inevitable bangs and bashes. I can see this may make applying the tolex more difficult if done on all edges - but it could be done on just the four long - lateral edges. Oh ,and BLACK annodised corner protectors. Sorry for thinking out loud but I'm a picture framer and I know all about arrises!

Dave I wish you would stop describing your ideal keyboard; SMC-76 /weighted with ally side panels! This has given me more psych-GAS over time than any Kurz SP6 or Forte 7. Guido - the DMC-122 + Gemini is your masterpiece.But this time you should have heeded the man from Delaware!

Thanks for the insiteful review voxpops. Good news that you find the action useable.The new OS update includes adding a high trigger option for organ. When you get to try it out let us know how its implemented an if its an improvement or not. Maybe Kurz should have included a 50"x12"x9mm piece of marine plywood in the box for stand placement. Though I can envisage that contact adhesive and some 2.5mm Alluminium (Thats Aluminum for you Yanks)would be one soloution!

Thanks for the retail advice Aidan and Toey. I did hear that last year the regs. covering internet or distance sales had been changed and the return period for certain market segments had been reduced to 14 days.Ultimately its up to individual retailers what period they offer. Gear 4 Music threw in a nice wheeled case for cheap when I last used them so I may see what kind of a deal I can get out of them on an SP6 - when I've shifted some other gear.

Im open about the merits of this pianna but this lady ( where have you been all my life?)seems to like it and endorse it. What a beautiful relaxed voice - and in front of such a dead audience. Another demo rippin' up Dolphin Dance I think Dexibell must have a descrete team just coming up with end-cap designs - they just dont seem intergrated. Still - wouldn't kick one out of bed on that account

New u-tube demo jammin' on the SP6. Playing is a bit manic but looks like that keybed plays like buttah. I think its the Yamaha sample you can hear at 1.00 and the Rhodes sounds good around 5.40 Elmer - help me out here! Cant seem to embed the clip.

"On a side note, I dont think GSi is done with the AP on the Gemini." This may be the nudge GSi needs to up-grade the piano on the Gemini module. Especially as Dexibell are going to up-grade their Acoustic emulation from Gold (currently) to Platinum soon. Im wondering what comes after Platinum?

So Tom, Have you warmed at all towards the Medeli keybed? If the keys are making the chassis sound - this can be alleviated by sticking some dampening foam to the (inside)flat areas.Also the felt under the keys could be swapped for a thicker type? And while you are in there - tighten up all them screws. Send the bill to Kurzweil R n D.

Based on that video I would be very underwhelmed by that piano sound. The other SP6 thread has a much better sounding Kraft Music demo by the man born to sell keyboards - Chris Martirano - on page 4/5 I'm waiting for the vid where Dave Weiser showe that with an expert programing skills the SP6 pianos sound better than the Forte ;-)

Yup,I'm sold! His Forte demo (some years ago) nearly made me bust my bank account but glad I waited as this has a nice simple interface for my small brain. Another vid from Kraft - All playing - No Bundle Bullsh@t! Very soulfull demo. Hearing the strings makes me want to dig out my copy of 'On Hearing the first Cuckoo in Spring' - by Fredrick Delius (arranged for piano)and dust it down.

What is this Medeli action comparable with? I've never been interested in the previous SP line and never heard of this make of keybed. Has it got "previous."

In case anyone is interested... Just noticed that the SP6 manual is now up on Kurz's website. Controller functions over MIDI look pretty comprehensive for a slab at this price - maybe better than the Casio CX-5s and it dose have an expression input (and also two DUAL switch ped inputs) I wish that you could set velocity offsets per Multi but it dose offer 10 global options. Also a new OS update (16/11/2017)which improves velocity transisions for the piano programs. And they have added a new "KB3 Trigger Mode"-you can set to trigger from either the top or bottom key contact. Neat!
