  1. PM sent, but since I started this non starter, what about my Mayweather musings? Please keep cool if I don't get back for a few days...
  2. MAJUSCULE... Now now now. Just a cutting session, no fists . lol I do not hate anyone here , but I do detest disrespect for serious musicians esp older ones who have endured, persevered. it's a safe zone for me. One of your fellow countrymen is a heroic figure for me.. Jordan Peterson. Yet another misunderstood genius type. Is this true, Floyd is looking for a billion? I love it. The world is crazy, and the Mayweathers' probably endured plenty of privation in their history. Did you ever wonder about the possibility of Conor and Mayweather secretly making plans regarding huge money making strategies which involve no permanent injury?
  3. It's Richard now, and thank you for considering me 'young', I certainly feel that way. We are talking. \ Sorry Bud, Name is John. Long ago I played with another ( in your estimation I would guess, since he played with tired Sanborn ) ancient musician by name of Richard Tee, thus i miss richard tee... You wanna go on with the Richard, knock yourself out, as your ignorance is pretty consistent so far. I have tremendous respect for certain teachers yes. But given your foolish pronouncements about music I respect, it fits that "I am Richard" and "I am a liar" and "I do not respect teachers" like Andres Segovia , Joe Allard, or Mike Longo, or Jack Reilly, Marcello Roviarro, Joe Maneri sp, or Spud Murphy... When you get off your ego deal, remember you drew first blood ( to use a popular simpleton movie analogy even you can understand ) with your public disrespect.. Follow the bouncing ball, boy, You started this thing... all I did was ask about a sound... a Sound is an innocent thing,, it does not submit to fools' opinions, for or against, it's just a sound, we happen to differ on . That should have been the end of it,, but you took it into the land of Jo Jo. Richard lol
  4. Name is john, young clown. Back off your BS about Sanborn. And we can talk.
  5. Wait a minute, are you knocking teachers? I'll hold off on names of well-knowns who taught (weekly!) depending on your answer. You don't get to kick and scream as you just did defending such tossable wallpaper, push-the-fish, music and then take a crack at music teachers. I'm more than happy to disappoint you today. I have respect for teachers I hold a few of them in highest regard. My jab was directed at a particular teacher here. Nevertheless there is some credence to that old saying... Those who can't really play, teach. But like all sayings it is not without exceptions. But pisssing you off was enjoyable I confess. As long as you disrespect David Sanborn and crew , by association... you are not worthy of much respect.
  6. Yes, For how long now? Me, 55 years, but whose counting. Let me tell all of you all out here... this little misunderstanding is only a tiny window into what is happening on a global scale in the western world. And the answer is not in sight. I will not take crap... and I get angry, and will not apologize for defending musicians who I love for their courage in the face of many hardships. In other words, not only was my innocently offered question about an organ sound mocked but top long time pros were publically needlessly mocked as well.. I will not hold my tongue under those circumstances. If we do not learn to talk to people who differ from us... Guess what? Unstioppable Troubles a brewin. I am ready to talk to you fellers who were disrespectful Best we do it right here.
  7. And do you make your living full time in music, as these guys and myself do? Not just for a year or two but for life? I was a respected tenor player long ago... I have huge respect that is R E S P E C T for ANY one who survives in this motha of a business over a CAREER. Sanborn has my hat ( I hate hats ) off to him. Huge respect for Arnett Admiration for Benson who I mentioned - he made a conscious choice to feed his family he left Jack Mc Duff and damn if that Aries ( Aries is the martial sign in case you are ignorant ) did not accomplish his goal. There ought to be a section at KC FOR FULL TIME MUSICIANS said tongue in cheek
  8. David Bryce and company: Forum rules no Ad hominem attacks? If these turkeys are not attacking me, pray, what would you call it? You attack me, you get no turned cheek, maybe split lip, but no cheek turning. These punks not only mocked me, fine, but Sanborn and Arnett Cobb.. Totally uncalled for.
  9. I would like nothing better than to meet you at a jam session. Humiliation being upper most in my mind. You not only mocked The Sanborn crew but an older bad ass from previous time Arnett Cobb. You did it right, Fool, you pissed me off with your disrespect. Well done clown.
  10. And you remind me very strongly of that old saying, mostly true about He who can does; he who cannot, teaches. Am I lying?
  11. Thank you Mr Jazzmammal.. I would like to hear this clown non cheesy music. I asked a legit question, and I get this? Get off my lawn you clowns.. And no for certain I am restraining the language here.
  12. OMG Is that what youngsters say in text lingo? omg This is soooo pretty 4:08 [video:youtube]
  13. While having fun searching for especially strong groove oriented song selections , I happened upon this session with Minn based Ricky Peterson with all star rhythm section behind Dave Sanborn I love the sound he is getting throughout the song, but precisely at 4:08 he adds another sound on top of the gorgeous sound, which is even more gorgeous ... to me any how. From 4:08 to 4:15 or so. What is the basic pad like sound he is using? What is the additional sound added to it? Ricky is one of my favorites, along with CT from Oakland.
  14. I think it's fascinating to watch otherwise reasonable people resolutely missing each other's points... Fight on! PM coming your way.
  15. Dear Sergeant Hulka, I am not lightening up. Cold dead hands is more apt. The fact you are oblivious to what I am referring to in academia is an indicator of your Archie Bunker blinders. The topic is verbotten here, and has nothing to do with keyboards.
  16. My world view is music, separated from the proposed (by often pompous academics) opinions of others; is how I roll. I do not care nor think about the social conditions that were in play, when I hear Bach or Charlie Parker. Music lifts ignorant men ( whether educated or not) out of their fashionable theories and into another world. Or maybe I should rephrase that last sentence ... Music lifts the Composers and artists out of their opinions while they are focussed on The Music Itself. The current trends in academia are revolting to me... and I cannot help but think that those ideas found today in academia seep into the minds of appreciators of the Music. I entirely reject the academics abstruse ideas... for me, it is soully the Music. Aka the thing itself. I NEED Classical Music. period.
  17. This Fly on the KC wall. CG Jung's observation, people do not have ideas, rather, ideas have people.... has never resonated more true for me than this nonsense thread.
  18. WTF are you members talking about? It never ceases to amaze, how humans make shit up about nothing. Classical music is often awesome music, with very little in other areas of music, to compare. WHat the hell do idiots' concern about racism or the wars that went on in the residence of a composer have to do with anything? Education can be a good thing, but since todays education is involved with issues that are conjured in the minds of oversensitive twits... I do not give a damn about an SJW's or postmodernists opinions about music, any music.
  19. Darn it all, this is crazy, but I was going to suggest Crazy Glue for the rattle.
  20. You are hitting many of the boxes for me... only thing missing is layers of at least 4 zones with split points. But I wanted to ask about light action. I have played keyboards for a long long time, yet never made a conscious connection regarding actions, the way so many here do. I guess that is impressive.. I cannot even imitate what users he say... "this fatar that, and this hammer and sickle that" All I can give regarding my requirement for action is the word you use... light. For me there is a 4500 dollar Nord that had fairly light action. I wish the Roland 2000 was not so heavy. I sold my Yamaha CP5 because of action too heavy. I would like to hear about your opinions on various actions... naming the brand/ model. I am surprised the action of Nord was for you.....?? At GC, the only place I have access to, there are Privias, which are light Many Yamahas a Nord Roland Korg I need LIGHT action to manage to play! Thanks
  21. Coincidence? Methinks not. Did you think I was that unawake? I am from the deadpan school of the ridiculous... but no one gets it. Is it my fault, or is the whole world not hip? Emoticon free, expression. Back East this sax player front man used to tell jokes - and he would say too hip for the room, over the mic.
  22. Thank you... and by "great action" does that mean light, light like a new Nord Stage I played recently?
  23. Hey A.C. do you realize your handle has a startling similarity to an old musical term used in notation for centuries, What an amazing coincidence. Next thing, someone is going to tell me humans are actually going to get along.
