  1. Hey gang, For those with PC4-7s, what are you using for a case? Soft case? Flight case? Semi-rigid case? There seems to be a wide disparity between a cheapo fabric case and a wildly expensive flight case. I'd love something in the middle, if it exists, with some padding and structure, but nothing crazy. I searched our existing PC4-7 threads and couldn't readily find a solution discussed. Thanks!
  2. I don't know what you guys are talkin' `bout...that version of Sledgehammer sounds super tasty to me. They totally nailed the feel, which is arguably the most important part.
  3. Yes, I've had some great experiences selling gear here. HOWEVER, if you don't want to ship, and you only want to deal locally, that limits your prospects a lot. Whenever I've failed to sell something here, I usually have better luck selling locally on Facebook Marketplace.
  4. That's a great question. If they want to fill the 61-key hole, why wouldn't they simply make a PC4-61. Maybe the nomenclature bugs me. Why not a K2761? Also, Kurzweil used to have cool sounding names. The K2000 has an impressive air to it. The PC3 or the PC4 sounds good. Even the K2700 has a nice ring to it. The K2061...meh, not so much. I think that as musicians, the way words SOUND to us, is actually important. It's part psychological, and part marketing.
  5. So it's a K2000 update?!?!? And not a 61 key K2700??!?! That's ....uh.... odd. But okay sure!
  6. It's so weird...I LOVE IT!!! Definitely seems like a tricked out SV2. Which sounds great to me. I agree with you all, I'd prefer a 73 key version (that's lighter).
  7. The Kurzweil K2000. I love the damn thing. I first saw one used around 2001 or 2002 I think. I had such LUST for it. I didn't have the money, though. Finally in 2004, I joined eBay just so I could hunt one down, and got a basic unit. I loved it so much, I sold it to buy a K2661, thinking it would be better. Nope. Mistake. Just didn't connect with it. Got another in 2020. It broke in 2021, and I got a K2vx. I love it so much. I'm probably just a weirdo, but something about it's limitations I find magical.
  8. Agreed! I actually liked the sound of the various Arturia instruments, so a few years ago I got a used Origin. Yikes! Not the same, very disappointing. It was so clunky and convoluted. I think the general idea of the Origin is killer, but that original execution was a mess. If they could improve the interface, I'd be very interested in new Origin.
  9. Regarding the use of drum loops as demonstrated by the Forte above...I have a Kurzweil PC4-7, and I've been wondering about this, specifically when using RIFFs (not audio loops). I can set up a single loop easy peasy but... Let's say you have 3 sections of a song, and you need a different drum loop for each section. How would would you set up a multi so that when you trigger the 2nd or 3rd loop loop, it ALSO ends the 1st loop. The idea here is not have to manually end the 1st loop. I think on drum machines, it might be called a choke group? Anyway!
  10. I also play bass and keys, though not in the same projects. I play bass (not keys) and sing backup in an original indie rock band. We have a dedicated keyboard player, so it just isn't necessary. Then, I play keys (including synth bass) in my own electronic project. I only have one bass, a Fender Jazz Bass, and a minimum amount of pedals, and a small light Yorkville amp. One thing I love about playing bass is the load-in is super easy. The simplicity of gear keeps it super easy.
  11. Hey gang! Is the Purgatory Creek Vintage Keyboard Collection for Forte compatible with the PC4-7? I was able to install the free Mark II sounds so I'm guessing they are????
  12. It's funny, I never used to like Korg, but these days my SV2 and Wavestate are my favorites. So, I guess I'm also on Team Korg.
  13. It feels like it! If you look at that "person's" other posts, they ALSO seem very odd and AI-like.
  14. This thread is 3 years old. Did Guitar Center file for bankruptcy again?
  15. Holy moly, that 88 key is –to my ears– one of the prettiest dang things I ever heard!
  16. I feel like that sounds exactly like my K2661 (which I don't have anymore).
  17. Whoa, I always thought that ACB sounded so good, I am curious about this. Especially if you can do multi-timbral ACB setups.
  18. SO COOOOL!!! I wish they'd give us a range of notes so we could sample them. Also, it's funny how flat their expressions are while playing a hilarious boogie woogie Ode to Joy.
  19. There's the Nord C1, Nord C2, and Nord C2d. Those are all capable of 3 zones, the upper, lower, and lower bass (low 2 octaves). I have EXTENSIVE experience with this; I used to control a weird synth rig with a Nord C1 and then a C2. The midi implementation isn't amazing, but it works.
  20. I love StaffPad. On the Facebook user group, I feel like people complain excessively; don't know why. These new features are pretty kick butt. I haven't tried them, so don't know if they're glitchy or not, but the vision of this program is really great.
