To my ear the Grandstage sounds better than the Kurzweil. Plus again I am looking for simplicity and not wanting to tweek and set up a lot of personalized patches. I had an SP6 that I returned to the store. You are right about the weight, but unfortunately, it has been my experience that quality is directly proportional to weight. I like the sound of heavier boards (unfortunately).

I was looking for excellent AP and EP Sounds, adequate strings, brass, reed inst., etc and most of all simplicity to set up and execute. I love my Kawai MP7, but was looking to cut weight, so I did compromise going to a 73 keyboard. Will take some adjustment but I think it will work out. So far, I couldn't be happier as I believe it will meet my needs. Drawbacks are still some weight although less than the MP7 and the ability to adjust sounds. Most of the time I can find what I need on the board. I owned an SV1 years ago and did like the pianos in that board. These are even better in my opinion. I am interested if any of you are planning to purchase as well.

I bought the SP6 to replace the MP7 weight, but to my ear the MP 7 has much nicer AP voices. And I can easily EQ them to cut through all that guitar stuff. Reluctantly I returned the Kurzweil but in my bands the AP is used 90% of the time. I occasionally layer strings and use brass, flute,accordion, EP and sax voicings which are adequate on the Kawai. So unfortunately I keep coming back to my Kawai and will continue breaking my back.

Wow, Dave, love the new Piano and Synth sounds ; I always say this is my last keyboard, but I know better. Next time I will buy from you. I bought the SP6 to shed some weight from the Kawai, MP7, which I really love. I have fingers crossed that this will be my light weight replacement. I am in a Guess who tribute so AP's that cut through all that guitar work are a must. Thanks, again.

I too have sent Dave a PM and havent heard back from him as he may be away. Also wondering if anybody Has access to a good saxophone patch for the SP6?Disappointed in the ones that are included.
