  1. Went yesterday with my three children.... the wife doesn"t like Star Wars, but the rest of the family even more.... Fantastic show, great music, 3D was a great add on as always..... Minor critic,...... during the pause we all 'guessed" the plot.... it was kinda obvious. 'Planet destroying weapons based on the same technique after the first death star","Sith Lords who refuse to distinct " 'Jedi forces on the brink of another collapse" has been overused somewhat.. But all in all a great fascinating evening !
  2. There was a major fuzz during Keith Jarrett"s Kölner concerts in the seventies if i remember correctly. Till the last minute he didn"t fancy the small Bösendorfer because he asked for an Imperial. After FIVE hours of tuning Keith agreed to perform. I must say you can hear the rapid detuning in the recordings, but boy it was a classic recording. Poor poor pianotuner that day....
  3. Wow,.... that"s why i hardly take the outcome of such tests as some sort of buyer"s guide, althaugh i greatly appreciate all the efforts. Thanks a lot !! I hade a Nord stage 2 and electro 3 and the original Joey deFrancisco Numa. The Numa sounded great, way more open and a 3d spatial fast leslie effect that did it"s magic in a real room instead of stereo imaging on a recording. However the Numa"s overdrive was exceptionally bad.... it thought it really sucked. Then i went to the HX3 + ventilator/real leslie and it was superb in every aspect for live usage with an arsenal of sounds and styles required. And now i use B5 V2.02 (headphones only) and it"s the best i have heard yet from a fundamental tone perspective. Downloaded IK, but not my cup of tea.... Wow i had to post this because i could hardly believe my own ears and other member"s comments about the respective recordings in this topic. I cannot even trust myself nowadays.....
  4. I have to admit that i strongly believe that clones and sims are there more or less..... But then there are times that my ears tell me i am lying to myself out of conveniences (weight-healt) Tonight on a daily show.....a bit freakish,....but the sound....just wow !!!! [video:youtube]
  5. I have the NeoSoul keys and used to have two Nords ,but deleted NeoSoul after purchasing the Scarbee EP88s and Sonic Couture broken Wurli. The NeoSoul Wurlitzer is really out of tune in a bad way. I liked their Rhodes in the beginning because of the dirt and grit, but the Wurli was also out of tune. To much of everything for my taste.... The Nord Electro Wurli would certainly have my preference, because 'out of tune" is on top of my list of annoying artifacts. I remember the clav in the Crumar ( forgot which one) that was also extremely out of tune..... no amount of 'organic", 'feel", 'realness" can make up for bad tuning that is fixed within the program.
  6. I think it"s really confusing that most users make a clear distinction between VB3 and VB3 v2, but not so with B5 and B5 v2(.02). The original B5 leslie was whimpy indeed, but the B5 V2.2 is great . In fact i downloaded the new IK multimedia B-3X trial version with the intention to buy, but going back and forth between IK B3-X and B5 V2.2 i liked the latter total package substancially better ......i think the IK leslie was spot on, but i the B5 V2 sounds perfect to me for what i do ( recordings ).
  7. True , it would have been a borefest without the races where Ferrari dominated at least in quali.. But if FIA does not 'up the ante" there is no guarantee we will see this trickery re-emerge next year. Redbull did it years ago with bypassing / corrupting the fuel consumption readings.... it must have been familiar territory given their outspoken comments towards Ferrari. I hope next year Ferrari, Mercedes and Redbull are more or less equall..... may the best driver win. There are at least a handfull of tracks (Monaco, Australia, Singapore etc.) where pole positions is a certain win and a 'one lap" overspeed because of stretching certain rules should be carefully monitored by FIA.
  8. Bottas had great racepace and i was so happy for Ricciardio. What i do find concerning is the mist surrounding Ferrari. We all know how Ferrari had a sudden drop of form last year when their dual battery trick was discovered. And now it does seem weird how much pace they lost in Cota .... even taking into consideration the different track, older engine (Leclerc) and focus on down force. Like Toto Wolff said today,.... their graphics about Ferrari performance looked totally different to the previous races. If Ferrari still has mediocre pace in the last two races, Fia should consider some form of point penalty instead of repeating the rules and how we all have to abide in those without getting into detail whatsoever..... let alone confronting the mighty Ferrari.
  9. Couldn"t disagree more... Max took pole in an inferiour car .....everyone said this was Ferrari"s pole. Was way faster than the other Red Bull. He made an arrogant stupid comment during the presser, while king Hamilton also didn"t slow down because he claimed he already passed Bottas. So that was a clear and unsafe mistake that got him penalised rightfully !! The race : Vettel sqeezed Hamilton on the grass which lead to a tangle with Max who approached turn one very conservative...a racing incident with Vettel again lacking spatial awareness while trying to 'own" the corner. Next : A brilliant pass on a sleeping Bottas who cut back and puncturing Max right rear tyre. Then a 65 run on hards starting almost half a lap behind the last driver of the pack, overtaking many which Hamilton last year couldn"t do when stucked in the midfield. In the mean time no single overtake was attempted among the race leaders...not even the beloved clean and safe , long straight DRS overtake the current spectators have learned to valuate over the kind of overtake Max pulled off over clumsy Bottas. No, no, no,..... F1 should be a train of sportscars with the brands with the best budget safely overtaking cars with a smaller budget using DRS on the straights. Max could end up killing someone trying to overtake at places other than a DRS zone.... O yes and of course the 'undercut/overcut" that Mercedes have mastered compared to the Ferrari shenanigans of their pitwall. DRS overtakes + undercutting = modern F1 All the 5 leading cars should have been pinalised by serving such an utter boring last 20 laps with no attempts to do anything but sustain a train of super expensive sportscars built to give the spectators some top dog fights. And don"t give me 'its impossible to overtake" because Max just proved it was possible in the stadium corners what no one in the history of the Mexican GP has ever attempted. We are brainwashed and have forgotten what racing in formula 1 should be all about,.... and Max shows it, but the majority hates the way he has upset the utter drool fest F1 had become. He should be far more applauded than critisized,..... sadly apart from the orange army ( i am one of them) the vast majority really enjoys Max misfortune over his one of a kind racing skills..... and seeks any oppertunity to critisize him where others are left alone. How dare Max try to re-define the boundaries of racing.....
  10. Finally Max had a good start instead of a mediocre - bad start. Effectively third and a clean and precise overtake on LeClerc who ended a possible three way team fight with undertstear into Max. Like last year's Max ( first half of the season) Charles LeClerc HAS te calm down somewhat because the last couple of races ( pushing Hamilton of the track and moving under braking and several team radio antics) he just seems a bit to much with everything at times. Last observations .....a winning Hamilton and a 'not so winning' Hamilton are the most predictable driver(s) of the whole pack on the team radio.
  11. Downloaded the demo version so i could compare first with my AS B5v2.5 before spending 200.00. Since i stopped gigging i have practiced solo piano most of the time. Sold my HX3, Numa and Nords and only have acoustic samples B5 on my computer. First difference is that the fundamental tone of IK is cleaner. The B5 has the organic grunt baked in more. The C3 chorus is more shimmery on the IK and it sounded a bit after C2.....maybe because the basic B5 tone+C3 is different as stated above.. I expected the IK leslie to be a step up, but both sound very good and to my ears the IK doesn"t give me this 'clearly better" feeling. It is very early days, but for me personally it is not a B5 V2.5 upgrade.... i like the B5 better. Doesn"t mean that the IK isn"t a splendid instrument, but not for me.... now. I could never warm to any Hammond sk and xk series (excluding the XK-5) and liked the Mojo ,HX-3, Nords and KeyB"s better. Far better organ players have always played on Hammond Suzuki ,... so take the above with a grain of salt.... just somehing personal
  12. Wow.... i think i've never heard a 'fast' leslie setting like this.... very, very convincing. I always assumed the leslie was impossible to 'clone' accurately. The ventilator made me reconsider that notion and the IK Multimedia sounds even better... i'm really impressed. For some reason the 'jazz settings' in all clones don't sound as balsy, woody and creamy compared to the real thing. Compare any of Joe Doria's Hammond jazz video's with the current clones and the differences are still there. Always thought the leslie was the weak link in the simulation realm..... i'm not so sure anymore....
  13. Yeahhh Vettel ... much deserved after Charles deliberately / accidentally ruined Vettel"s Monza Q3 second run. But the 'tire saving" nonsense has gone to a whole new level ...what an insane first 10+ laps of damage control and pre calculated tire delta. Maybe they should force a two stopper in every race so that ruining one specific tire to quickly doesn"t have such a large impact. The top ten had softs on, but only to use it as the slowest tire instead of the fastest.... can"tbe the whole idea behind the choice of tires..... can it ?
  14. Another great tune [video:youtube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InXwlFqNMqM
  15. Most older dutch people remember the band Ekseption from the late sixties early seventies. I don´t really know about the rest of this world, but i guess ´´ONE Hammond to rule them all´´ comes to mind....Is there any style a Hammond cannot fit in ? Anyways enjoy....(if you are not familiar with this) [video:youtube]
  16. I liked it when the spacestation slowly collided with a star destroyer awesome cgi........ oeps,....... wrong topic......
  17. Just out of curiousity....are there qualified Rhodes and Wurlitzer tuners out there ? As a pianotuner i often have to tune grands next to a Wurli or Rhodes in theaters. They are always somewhat out of tune.....mildly put. Besides the stores who sell refurbished Rhodes/Wurlies i do not know ''on the road'' tuners of those instruments.
  18. If you hear that light tremolo effect, then you are talking about the B-5 Version 1 The version 2 is completely different, especially the Leslie. Can you explain what the differences are between normal and high leslie mode ? Is the 'high mode' more cpu intensive for an even better result ? That said, thank you for such an outstanding plug in. I am all over the moon with this superb Hammond emulation, this is such a purchase that does not leave me wanting for anything but to play it !!!
  19. Yeah, you open the Presets panel and then you can load them from the right. I can attest that all of mine (except the 2 I need to resubmit to Arno), load not just drawbars, but leslie settings, tube distortion, Cho/Vib, mechanical noise etc. It all loads properly. This thing is smokin' thank you, should have read the previous page more properly I am digging this more and more too...it's superb !! How do you think it compares with the top hardware equivalents ?
  20. I have experienced the same issues ! Only the drawbars seem to change when selecting new presets, percussion, vibrato , organ and leslie model settings remain the same,..... i don't think this could be intentional. Having said that, i like it very much, it sounds absolutely stunning !!!
  21. Bought it yesterday and it's growing on me. Really nice organic sound that captures that vintage Hammond vibe. It does sound different than my Numa and HX3. Good !!! Because i like different flavours for different purposes. Althaugh it does seem odd to have such different end results with different approaches to mimmick a vintage Hammond B3, not withstanding that real Hammonds have their own sound of course.... The new leslie sim is so much better than what was present in the original B5, althaugh the ventilator is still the best leslie sim out there. But i really like the complete package, no complaints what soever, will serve me for a long time !!
  22. Is this more or less the jazz sound you are looking for LX88 ? If not i will try to find something else...... [video:youtube]
  23. Can it do jazz? It can do Lambada too!!! It's the player not the instrument.... I am not a Hammond purist and started to explore the Hammond sound intensively 10+ years ago. First thing i noticed is that there is ''clonewheel jazz''. To name a few a encountered....... Tony Monaco on the NI B4 Joey DeFrancesco on the Diversi Jim Alfredson on the Hammond XK3 A sterile, clean, better than rompler kind of Hammond sound. It was nowhere near the sound of the likes of Jimmy Smith and his ''jazz'' sound. I always thought it was solely down to the use of a tube leslie cabinet. But no......the more i explored, the more i became aware of all the subtleties missing in modern clones. My first ''WOW'' clone was the Nord Electro3, but it became clear after a year that it was severely limited in producing a real Hammond sound. HX3 has THAT character (organic Hammond sound of the old days) that my Numa and all others seem to lack. But i believe there are many ''clone jazzers'' out there that really like the clean, open, mild character of modern clones and for them the HX3 has to much organic flutter going on, so they see HX3 mainly as rock organs. I am sure my HX3 can mimmick this jazz sound way better than my Numa or most of the other clonewheels out there...... [video:youtube]
  24. I don't know about the authenticity of the CV , i like my hx3 with c3 into a leslie. But the organic tone, balsy character and keyclick is much better in the HX3 than my Numa organ and the Roland VK engine in my Integra7. Nord isn't a match either and i played the Crumar Mojo a couple of times and think it is the most overhyped clone of them all. Not because it diesn't sound good, but because i don't think it sounds better than the rest. When i played it at the Messe 2016 i thought it sounded very good, but reading so many positive things about the Mojo it upgraded my initial findings i guess...... When i played it a few weeks ago in a musicstore i expected something very special. Wow ......it was a real let down, not because it didn't sound good, but because it didn't sound very special. I compared to the Nord electro5 next to it and i couldn't pick one over the other. My Numa is still good enough for an airy/ breathy sound with a mild character and HX3 is still a league of it's own for fat and screaming organic Hammond sounds that no other clone seems to capture, no matter how flattering the comments are.
