  1. I typically use a slightly-edited version of the Bösendorfer Imperial Rock preset on the Montage.
  2. I've been retired since 2019 due to health issues and the pandemic, but spent my entire career in the live event ticketing industry. 18 years at Ticketmaster as a manager regional VP, and EVP. Started in San Francisco working for Ticketron (anyone remember them?) handling accounts like the Giants, 49ers, theaters, tourist attractions, etc. I miss working very much, but alas, health issues persist.
  3. Chicago suburbs for the last 21 years. In the past, I've lived in Cleveland, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York. Next move will likely be to Tucson, for family reasons.
  4. Favorite: Elton John - 1974 Yes - 1975 Van Halen - 1984 Peter Gabriel - 1992 Janet Jackson - 1994 Least favorite: Cheap Trick - 1980 (too loud, not my style) Madonna - 2019 (disappointing set list, weak material) Pleasant surprises: Dolly Parton - 1991 Disturbed - 2005
  5. They missed these guys - Charles Walter. https://www.walterpiano.com/
  6. 13 years of private classical piano lessons (age 6-19). I had an excellent teacher throughout my teenage years. 2 more years of private classical piano lessons (age 46-47). Started playing at age six - am now 65 - never stopped!
  7. No - just a video that popped into my TikTok feed. Never seen anything/anyone quite like it. Oh, and at my age he'd be more like a grandson to me. Ack, I feel so old...
  8. Very bizarre. I have no idea what that could be about. Okay, I won't try posting a .MOV file again. 🤷‍♂️ Next. 😎
  9. Hmmm... On my phone, this video plays inside the page, but on my Mac it appears as a file that needs to be downloaded. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  10. Perhaps 1979. Oberheim OB-1, ARP Quadra, ARP Odyssey Mk III, ARP Omni 2, Yamaha CP-70B. I also had a Rhodes 73 Stage. The OB-1 was a miracle at the time, because you could actually store eight presets. The Quadra could remember which sections and sliders were active in a preset, but not the position of any of the sliders. This was a three-piece band. I played keys and keys bass. We also had a guitarist and drummer, both who sang. All original prog/pop rock of the era. Genesis meets The Who meets The Cars.
  11. It has a lot of knobs and sliders, and is pricey, but the Akai MPK249 controller has a great keyboard feel and aftertouch. I'd like to have one of these - or the 61-key version - even though I have need for only a couple of knobs.
  12. That's the #1 thing I miss after having sold my Jupiter-50 several years ago.
  13. I bought a Mac Mini M1 a few weeks ago. The only glitch I had was getting my Steinberg UR44 audio interface up and running. I had to boot the mini in recovery mode and go in and change some security setting so that the Steinberg driver could be installed. Not sure what that was about, but everything of mine works just great.
  14. I have found myself spending a lot of time listening to the Progressive channel on DI.FM. The quality of production and sound design on most of the tracks I hear are simply amazing - very imaginative stuff. It's mostly ear candy whilst driving, but very impressive ear candy in the realm of "people making cool sounds with synthesizers." Progressive Radio - DI.FM I've also been entertained listening to those two women from Indiana in their true crime podcast... I've never been into this kind of thing myself, but Ms. Flowers tells a great story. Crime Junkie Podcast
  15. Apple currently sells Minis with the M1 chip, I have one. Are you talking about an update?
  16. I just upgraded two weeks ago - I needed to replace my 2013 27" iMac (8MB, 1TB SATA) running Logic, DP, Omnisphere, etc. Money was a consideration. Long story short - I finally decided on: - Mac Mini M1 8GB RAM, 256 GB SSD ($699) - LG 27" QHD (2530x1440) Monitor ($219) - SanDisk USB-C 500GB SSD ($89) - Apple Magic Keyboard with Touch ID ($149) This computer is ridiculously fast. I opted for the Mac Mini M1 over the Macbook Air M1 because: - It offers much more in terms of connectivity/inputs - The Mini can support two monitors while the Macbook Air M1 can only support one external - My eyes are older, and I really need a larger screen for music production I loaded all of my apps on the Mini's internal SSD but all of the massive sound libraries (Logic, Omnisphere, Kontakt, etc.) on the external SSD. Why the external SSD? Because it was cheaper than buying an Apple device with larger internal capacity. 750GB total storage is more than enough for me at this point, and I can always add another drive if I need to. FWIW, the SanDisk SSD is very fast, with transfer speeds up to 1,050 MB/s. Just another option to consider. 😀
  17. Here are a couple - thanks so much! https://music.apple.com/us/album/hypnotica/1570422736?i=1570422741 https://music.apple.com/us/album/tau-ceti/1570971927?i=1570971930
  18. Yep, looking at JV-2080 units sold on eBay in the US recently, they're going for about $350.
