  1. That is some badass, funky Rhodes playing from Mr. Dunn. I've always loved that track, but the isolated stems is a revelation on what he was doing underneath. What a lesson in funk!
  2. Mike, according to Wikipedia the list price actually went up to $4595 for the Rev 3's! It was $3995 for the earlier models. And if I recall correctly, bank loans during those years had quite high interest rates as well.....that must have been a steep payment.
  3. I see on the top link there is also a download for 7 accordion sounds created by Dave Weiser.
  4. Damn, I had to Svengle wet-tuned and FreeBass accordions. Who knew? Listening to some YouTube videos, I find myself liking the wet-tuned sound. If I'm looking for an accordion to add in to a duo (mind you, I'm a hack...this is just to play on a couple songs), is were-tuned the way to go??
  5. Damn Max...a separate building for keyboards. Envious!
  6. Wow, that's worth a trip to Home Depot to check out. I really like the height of the handle....
  7. Glad to have you here Ronn, and always nice to see another Cali person. There is a wealth of knowledge here, and helpful tips no matter what your level..
  8. Interesting idea......I've never seen one in the wild here in the US, although Guitar Center seems to carry them online. The do have a video about it... The only reviews on the GC website are 2 negative ones..one about the "System X" sticker coming off, and the other saying it's wobbly.
  9. Sounds great! Singing lead, keyboard (organ) and left bass....that can be tough. Hammond sound is great with the Artis. I use mine with an E5 so I rarely use it as such, but it really is potent!
  10. Aspen and others have always said the quality of the cable makes a difference on the unit.
  11. My favorite review site, The Wirecutter, has a great write up on their best printers. They recommend an inexpensive b&w laser printer for most folks. I'm planning on picking one up soon. Ink Jet ones suck...disposable junk. https://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-laser-printer/
  12. Interesting article on Darvish tipping his pitches in Game 7. http://www.businessinsider.com/yu-darvish-tipping-pitches-world-series-loss-2017-11 It explains a lot if true....
  13. I'm not familiar with this show, and I don't think it's been mentioned here, but this interview with Benmont is really fantastic. Long! Almost and hour and a half. Covers gear, music, stories......amazing. It was done this summer before the final tour. The guy is so cool.....
  14. Dave, not taking anything away from Ken Rich, but Alltek is great, and he comes to your house. Pretty damn handy if you're not in the mood to schlep that thing again right away....
  15. Here's a parts one on Reverb...... https://reverb.com/item/6220530-korg-x50 I'd ask them if the screen works?
  16. Damn, you guys are making worry. No issues yet...but wondering if there's something proactive I can do? Anyone know the details on what they do to fix the grounding flaw?
  17. No wall wart on the Artis 7 or Artis 88 key....only on the SE...
  18. I agree with most of the comments mentioned. I also had the SP4-7 first, and upgraded to the Artis 7. I also liked the less sprung feel of the keyed on the SP4-7....I just think Kurzweil 76 boards are too tightly sprung.....but that's my only reservation. It's a great board, and has been mentioned on other threads, the sounds sit very well in a band situation.
  19. You should try it before making any judgements. It's still a unique and cool amp for keyboard players, no matter which version you get. I'm the only other person besides Dave who has heard both at the same time, and I wouldn't hesitate to get the newer one if I wanted the spatial effects of the amp. Which I personally do.
  20. My personal take on the weight of the v3 unit is, while it is kind of a heavy little bugger, it's such small package that it's less of an issue because of the ergonomics. When I carry mine, my arm holding it is pretty close to my body. At least for me, that feels like less of a strain than something bigger and more cumbersome. YMMV... I'll leave the unit with dB for a week or so if any other local peeps are interested A/Bing them together. And if that's OK with dB of course.....
  21. I would echo Dave's comments. He has much better ears than me, but I would say that the v3 just has a rounder, fuller, livelier sound in the crucial area most of us play in. Punchier would be a another was of saying it? Certainly more pleasing to my ears. I'm glad I went and let Dave play. So much easier to have another player so I could listen objectively. And yes, the older unit is louder. Oh, and don't play the Nord Piano 3. The damn thing is lovely.....
  22. Dave, PM me if you want me to bring down my SSv3. I've got Dave Ferris' old one.
