  1. Tommy, again huge thanks for taking the time to do this not once, but again with revisions! Yes, the QSC's do sound a bit better this time around, although both really do sound great. Money not withstanding, I'd go for the QSC's.
  2. Kenley's deal is only for one year. It seems like he overplayed his hand looking for a 3 year deal and got impatient when it didn't look like he'd get it. Interesting article on how it went down... https://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgers/story/2022-03-20/dodgers-kenley-jansen-explains-why-signed-atlanta-braves
  3. Chroma Polaris. Not sure what I was thinking..... Before there were Rompler's I wanted something that we now know as a Rompler. I know many here love to program; not me. Minor tweaks is all I need. For some reason I thought the Polaris could be close. I was sadly mistaken.....
  4. Big fan here as well of this song, but my fave of theirs is their homage to the Beatles (it seems to me at least) "Sowing The Seeds Of Love". The original and new live version with orchestra...
  5. Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but I have known about this one for awhile but finally made the time to watch it this last week. While admittedly more of an "admirer" of the band rather than a fan, this documentary is simply brilliant. It's hard not to appreciate the tenacity and longevity of these guys, and of course the fact that all of the songs and lyrics are written by the keyboard player Ron Mael. Well worth the time investment to watch.
  6. This is all very interesting as I am considering getting some 8" PPA speakers in the near future. My overall thought though is I wonder with NAMM only 3 months away what might be introduced by both (and more) companies in this size?
  7. Interesting take from Bill Plaschke at the LA Times suggesting the Lakers should trade LeBron. https://www.latimes.com/sports/lakers/story/2022-02-24/lakers-must-be-open-to-trading-lebron-james
  8. It's the same thing with a real Hammond. I remember trying to learn Hammond stuff on a Yamaha combo organ when I was a kid, with awful results. Then I played on a console and immediately understood how easy it was to do on the right instrument. The Clav is the same, as you posted...you immediately can do those slaps and percussive conga-like non-note sounds that we've all heard for years on records.
  9. I wanted to follow up to my query from last month to report I ended up with a Studio Slips bag that I am very happy with. I took all of the options available and it came out to $250, which is a very fair price in my book. The quality is wonderful, and I plan to order one for my Nord E5D next, as my Nord bag is starting to come apart. Even with the double padding option, it's still slightly less than my Nord bag, but all in all it's perfect for my needs. Big thanks to all who responded with great suggestions!
  10. Cornelius Bumpus on the sax as well. What a great band and song.....killer.
  11. Gigantic thanks for all of the hard work put into the changeover. I can only assume it was a PITA…mucho apreciado….…..
  12. Reviving this thread as my Artis 7 had the shriek happen. Wow..... it's f*****g loud. I actually had a really good experience with Kurzweil support, as I mentioned this issue and referenced this thread by sending the link to it. I spoke with Logan from American Music & Sound, who was actually based out of Canada at Jam Industries. He contacted the Kurz folks who knew of the issue. They sent very detailed instructions to the service center nearest to me, who very quickly did the repair. It seems it's actually a few things involved; the tech told me he changed out a couple of capacitors, updated the main PCB and rerouted I think an AC cable. I love the Artis 7 as it's perfect for my needs, and since I did the spring swap to lighten the action it's a dream to play. Having spent a bit time working in CE design and manufacturing, I can cut Kurz some slack. I know they're a small company, and I suspect they were mortified when these issues started showing up. If anyone else is having problems connecting with them to get it fixed, feel free to PM me. I can share the contacts and details I went through to get it taken care of....
  13. Ringo sounds pretty darn good here....
  14. I have very fond memories of listening to that song on headphones circa 1975. I bought it one night after my early organ lesson at the mall organ store. Magical playing and sounds throughout...
  15. I had never heard of the Chilton Talentmaker...wow. Crazy! When were those around? Late 70's?
  16. That Soul Sugar record is pretty cool..
  17. Seemingly another case of someone using Reverb as an advertisement and setting the price extremely high to see who reaches out. But maybe some Japanese billionaire will buy it for that? My brother took his well-used Mercedes into a very well known huge MB dealer here in SoCal for a factory recall issue. He was looking at the MB/Maybach SUV with a sticker of $160K, and a dealer upcharge of around $50K due to the chip shortage. He asked the salesman what kind of pushback they're getting on the upcharge, and he said almost no one even mentions it. If you've got the coin, this is a rounding error....
  18. Great story....I heard he (and they - the rest of the Dominos and Eric) were a handful and a half between egos, drugs, booze, mental illness etc. Bobby is and was very talented, and kinda got the shaft. But no excuse for that type of behavior.
  19. I believe the 612 has the newer upgraded amplifier. The 500 series has been around the longest, going back at least 7 years or more? That"s why there are a fair amount of used ones available. The newer models like the 610 and 612 have the new amp, but I believe the 408 has the older one. Maybe Mitch Towne can weigh in for clarity? If it were me, I"d get the 612 rather than the older versions.
  20. And just to clarify, as I have been to Dave's house, it's not his "only" rig, it's his "big" rig. Which is not to insinuate that his other rig is a "small" rig. It is not. And yes, this rig is in his living room, and no, he is not single, and yes, his wife is a saint for letting him essentially have keyboard/MI nirvana spread out all over their home. And yes, I am jealous.
  21. Wow. Lovely for sure....all look to be in fantastic shape. Have they all been gone through and refurbished? The white Wurlitzer is particularly dreamy....
  22. Those look quite nice. Ironically one of the bags I need is for my Casio CT-S1 as well.
  23. Yes, I knew of Mooradion, and they were one of the ones I was thinking of that's no longer in business.
  24. Does anyone have a contact for getting a custom gig bag made? A couple of the places I knew of seem to have gone out of business in the last few years. I do know of Glenn Cronkite, who makes great stuff, but a nylon bag is running almost $700 for my Kurzweil from them. I don't mind spending decent money, but that is bit above my pain point. Thought the group might have others? Thanks in advance....
