  1. Looking for some guidance on how to connect an iPad with B3-X to my CX-3. I'm looking at the CX-3 manual now to get my head around the midi settings but since I have never tried anything like this I wanted the brain trust of experts on here for some guidance. Tips? Pointers?
  2. You can't believe how happy I am about Wizards trading away Westbrook. Been a Wiz fan forever and while he was fun to watch, we were going nowhere with him and his HUGE contract. Now we are free from both John Wall albatross contract and Westbrooks. Hopefully we can rebuild with more cap space and put some pieces around Bradley Beal.
  3. I was just looking at that $5000 console they sell and man did it seem like it might be the $h*t. Has anybody on here actually ever heard one of those? My guess is that it is nirvana for playing at home and becoming enveloped in sound. The vintage vibe website is kind of strange. It isn't clear as to how one would order one of those. I assume you could plug a regular stage piano or similar keyboard into it (non-vintage vibe) and it would sound amazing.
  4. As a Suns fan you should be loving Budenholzer. The coach just doesn't know how to manage his matchups and make in game decisions. I see Bucks winning one in Milwaukee but that's about it. If you're a praying man, just hope that CP holds up down the stretch, he's playing lots more minutes in these games than he played in prior years playoff runs with other teams. He could wear out. But even if he's shaky by game 5, I think the Suns could win without him.
  5. I think the Buck's should have waited to bring Giannis back, he wasn't 100% last night and it might have set him back. Great game for the Suns last night
  6. Congrats Geoff, you must be over the moon on this one. I love me some Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton. Have not really follow CP3 much but it would be cool to see him get the chip. It should be a fun series to watch, I'm also a big Kris Middleton fan. My main thing is the freshness of the finals this time without Lebron and Steph and the other regulars that gets boring to me. Bring on the new teams and Go Suns!
  7. Gotta admit I really enjoyed Mare of Easttown
  8. Congrats Geoff! It's going to be interesting to see if the Jazz can eliminate the Clippers. If so, that should be a great series between your Suns and the Jazz. I'm a big fan of Devin Booker and nice to see CP3 going towards the finals. On a separate note, I'm glad Lebron and AD are gone and hoping the Nets falter now that Kyrie got hurt again.
  9. Can anybody recommend a youtube video (or equivalent) on how to learn to play the Hammond part of this song? I don't read music notation so a note-by-note type demonstration would be wonderful.
  10. Did not really like the female vocals from VInyl Live Jams, but that dude in the first video had an amazing gravelly voice. Both Hammond performances were tasty for sure.
  11. For all you B3-X users out there, what are you using to control it? How do you trigger Leslie fast vs. slow? Can it be mapped to an older board like the CX-3?
  12. Thanks for all the info Tom. I'm going to look into it. Is it possible to see the other players playing while the jam is going on? I watched the sample performances video on their website.
  13. Hey, I have never heard of that JamKazam site. It looks like it might be a lot of fun. I haven't taken the time to look closely, but what are the equipment requirements? I guess it requires you to have a video cam that streams you to the other band members?
  14. I went ahead and got the screen protector. I also bought a pretty decent protective case by UAG. I realize there are literally thousands of cases for these things. Sometimes when I go for walks in the neighborhood I listen to podcasts using the phone speaker. The sound coming out of this is tinny and boxy compared to my iPhone 6. I think the case has an effect on what how the speaker sounds. I know I'm picky as hell, but I wish it sounded better.
  15. I'm finally upgrading from an iPhone 6 to iPhone 12. One thing I loved about my 6 is that it was damn near indestructible. I dropped it dozens of times and never had any issues. I purchased a high quality screen protector and always had a semi-rugged case for it. Are the iPhone 12's really durable too? I read somewhere recently that the newest iPhone's have really strong screens and actually don't require the screen protectors to keep them from cracking. Looking for opinions on this.
  16. This movie may not fit light hearted because it is a little raunchy, but I think Horrible Bosses (the first one) is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.
  17. Recently I started using my iPad (about 3 years old) on Sundays for chord sheets. I'm looking for a simple solution for holding the iPad in a mic stand type arrangement. I have a two-tier stand holding my keyboards and I don't want anything that is connected to the keyboard stand, just something free-standing that I can place to my left of the keyboards. Looking for specific brands/models if possible. Doesn't have to be the cheapest, just something solid and clean. Thanks!
  18. Looking for input on what the action of the newest iteration of Fantom's is like. I'm thinking about the 61 or 73 but am afraid that the action may be TOO soft or lame. Semi-weighted for me is better than un-weighted but I read somewhere that the 61's action is too soft. Are the 61 and 73 the same?
  19. I have a Kronos and MOFX keyboard and when I'm not bugging you guys about my questions, I go to the Korg user forum and Yamaha Synth forum websites, which are pretty decent for getting questions answered. Does anybody know of a place where Roland users hang out? I'm thinking about the Fantom board and was using Mr. Google to search for user forums for Roland and could not really find anything. Any suggestions?
  20. I am reading the owners manual and trying to get ready for church tomorrow morning. Funny thing is several of you guys are saying that the bass, mid-range and treble EQ settings can be edited for each patch in the Korg, but I can't find that in the manual. Are you sure about this?
  21. Wow, this is really eye opening .... I'm embarrassed to admit that I have never edited any of the parameters in the CX-3. Thank you for these tips! I will definitely do what you're suggesting about the pre-amp and the amp type settings in the organ. REALLY APPRECIATE IT
  22. Yes, the amp is XLR'd out to the PA. Our so-called pro sound team is not up to the task of using good mics on stage amps (long story). I do have my KBR3D mounted on a stand (off the floor) that angles the sound up towards me as a monitor.
  23. I do use an expression pedal. Can you be a little more specific in what you mean by "staying on it with drawbars, eq, expression and volume?"
  24. I'm still playing my CX-3 (a little old but the newer version with Midi) through my Motion Sound KBR-3D during our Sunday morning church gigs. We play contemporary rock/ballad type tunes and honestly it gets pretty loud most of the time. There's also drums, bass, piano and electric guitar and vocals. My question has to do with "cutting through the mix" when we get loud. The patches I use are fairly trebly and I put a little bit of onboard distortion on them. I'm mostly playing chord progressions (not that many lead riffs). When I play lower to mid-range notes you can barely hear them and the notes in the upper register can be heard but they seem a little thin to me. Or weak. I use both slow and fast speed on the Leslie. In another recent thread I saw somebody asking for a comparison of XK-1 to SK-1 and there was a discussion of tone. I'm wondering if my tone on these gigs would be improved if I moved from the CX-3 to something like the SK-1 or XK-5 (probably too expensive). Suggestions? P.S. I just revisited a CX-3 thread I posted a couple months ago and somebody suggested I use the CX-3 as a controller for an iPad with B3X on it. I'm going to try that this week and see how it sounds.
