  1. Truth be told, apart from the T8 and Prophet VS, none of the older SCI synths have ever done it for me - not even the P5. Just a matter of taste. I did love my Drumtrax, though. dB
  2. Got no 70s pics, but this one was from 1980. Yamaha CP30 on the bottom, Korg Lambda in the middle, (out of sight) Mini-Moog on top. dB
  3. Sorry to say I was never much of a fan of the Six-Trak. Too thin-sounding for my taste. dB
  4. I almost always stand when playing live. It feels more comfortable to me. 😎 dB
  5. All the MoogerFooger plug-ins are on sale. $29 each, $149 for all of them. Available at the MPN Shop. dB
  6. I’m surprised I’ve never posted this. It’s an annual fave at my house. TURKEY TETRAZZINI 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. salt ¼ tsp nutmeg ¼ tsp cayenne 2 c. milk 1 can (12 oz.) chicken broth 2 egg yolks 1/2 c. light cream 1/3 c. dry sherry 1 pkg. (16 oz.) spaghetti 4 c. cooked turkey, in large pieces 1 can sliced mushrooms 1/2 cup celery 1 c. grated sharp cheddar cheese Parmesan cheese Bread crumbs (preferably Panko) Make sauce: Melt butter in saucepan stir in flour, salt, nutmeg and cayenne pepper until smooth. Gradually stir in milk and chicken broth; bring to boil, stirring constantly. Boil gently, 2 minutes or until mixture is slightly thickened. In small bowl beat yolks with cream. Gently beat in a little of the hot mixture. Return to saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until sauce is hot. Do not boil. Remove from heat and add sherry. Cook spaghetti as to package directions; drain. Add 2 cups sauce to drained spaghetti and toss until well blended. Add turkey, celery and mushrooms to remaining sauce. Turn spaghetti into 12 x 8 x 2 inch baking dish. Spoon turkey mixture over top. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese, then cover top with Parmesan cheese and bread crumbs. Bake in preheated 325 degree oven covered 25 minutes; uncover and bake 10 minutes more or until piping hot. Serves 8. dB
  7. Got Bellybutton. Sounds pretty great, but I think the CDs sound better tbh. dB
  8. ...and, as usual, it's available in the MPN Shop. 😎 dB
  9. Me, too. SE 30, if memory serves. That was my first software sequencer as well. 😎 dB
  10. Been using DP since early 80s, since it was just Performer. Never seen a reason to change. Tried several of the other suspects, but didn’t see anything that motivated me to adopt and learn a new platform. dB
  11. I have one other unreleased QCard. 😎 It is a series of industrial and nature samples that were sort of a predecessor to Tracktion’s BioTek. We made it with Arne Schultz, who did a lot of sounds for Yamaha as well. Brother Taiho Yamada (currently Director of Marketing for Sequential) had a major hand in this project. Besides all the individual sounds that we sculpted into instruments, we also made a bunch of loops that were all sorts of fun to play with. I used it a while back on this cover of The Light Dies Down On Broadway. It’s all the percussion loops you hear in the tune. dB
  12. I still have a QSPP, my beloved QS8 with a heavier action keybed (FATAR sent us one to try out and I loved it, so I kept it), a QSR, a NanoBass, two Andromedae - one Red, one Blue….and all the QCards. dB
  13. GForce just put pretty much everything they offer on sale from now until November 30th. Prices as low as 85% off. Available at the MPN Shop. dB
  14. Agreed. I’m a native Philadelphian, so I’m not feeling that NFL Grinchy this year…but I am definitely psyched for the Lions and their fans. dB
  15. I’ve tried Luna when I picked up my Apollo x8p a few years ago so it was already free for me.. I have a whole bunch of UA plugins as well as AUs, so I was all set there. I thought it was easy enough to move around on…but honestly, I didn’t see or feel that much of a reason to movie away from the DAW I’ve been using for all these years (DP). dB
  16. Just saw TH open for, then play with Seal this past summer at the Greek Theatre. Not only did I get to see Video Killed the Radio Star live, but he did his original Pre-Yes version of Into The Lens. 😎 I love his music - psyched to get this record! dB
  17. I’ve re-recorded a whole bunch of tunes I originally did in the 20th century. I’ve always enjoyed revisiting that older material with my current perspective, skill set and equipment. The Funky Young Monks link in my sig is just such a project. 😎 dB
  18. How many software guys? Sorry - that’s a hardware problem. dB
  19. Cherry Audio GX-80 is on flash sale this week (11/5/23-11/13/23). Available at the MPN Shop. dB
  20. Yes, a few lines. Click the MPN Shop link in the nav bar at the top of the page… …or use this link. I’m fairly sure there will be some of them going on sale this month. dB
  21. How many folk singers does it take to change a light bulb? Three. One to change the bulb, and two to write a song about the old bulb. How many drummers? None. There’s a machine that does that now. Bass players? None. The keyboard player does it with their left hand. Lead singers? One. They hold the bulb and the whole world revolves around them. OT - how many psychiatrists? Only one…but the bulb really has to want to change. dB
