A musician's guide to live-streaming...

Recommended Posts

Hi friends. I wrote an article for my website since I had a lot of people asking how I did a multi-camera / pro audio stream this past Sunday. If you haven't seen the stream, you can watch it over on my new FB page, Live From Jimmy's Basement. SMASH THAT LIKE BUTTON!

We'll be doing another one Saturday at 7pm if you're bored and at home. Tune in via the FB page.

Anyway, here's the article which gives an overview of the process and talks a bit about my setup.

Thanks Jim!

I have a lot of musician friends who are trying to get their streaming and video service up and running now for teaching purposes! I think this will be interesting for them!

Thank you Sir Jim!!!

I've got it bookmarked.

Not on Fakebook anymore, life is peaceful.

I suppose that could change. Our bandleader mentioned streaming but he has a band page we can use for that now.

It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is.

Thank you for doing that. I did a live stream last night just using my iPhone's meager mic in my non-sound-treated living room with a piano, a B3, and a singer with a mic going through a PA speaker. The result was impressively good, but I'd like to find ways to make it better since this is now our reality.

I just read your page and watched some of your broadcast.

Thanks again for sharing, very good work!!! Your band looks and sounds great, this is working well for you.

I hope people are generous (I am another gig-less broke musician)!!!

It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is.

Here's a youtube video with more info about the inexpensive video switcher Jim mentions in his article:
