p90jr
RIP. I only recently learned he was alive... I thought it had been reported that he'd died a few years ago.
Scott Fraser
RIP. I only recently learned he was alive... I thought it had been reported that he'd died a few years ago. Me too. He had a rough life after Mac. Mental illness, substance abuse, homelessness. It's somewhat miraculous he even lived to 68. His lyricism made for my favorite period in the evolution of Fleetwood Mac. The combination of three guitars, deadly in most cases, made what is in my opinion, their best ever album, "Then Play On". 2 Quote Scott Fraser
desertbluesman
RIP Danny, I was an admirer of Fleetwood Mac from the Peter Green days up until Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham joined, after those two joined I became a big time admirer. Always a great band but with those two added, it went from being great to super-stardom. 1 Quote dbm If it sounds good, it is good !! http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=143231&content=music
d halfnote
Yes, I just read of this today myself. I must say that I found him to be the most soulful member of that the Mac (sorry, Xtine McVie fans ). Ivan May
This was always one of my favorite Danny Kirwan Fleetwood Mac songs. The entire Bare Trees album is good.
KuruPrionz
We played Kiln House until the record died, then we got another copy. That was Danny Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer, Peter Green was long gone. Great album and great guitar work. Rest in Peace Danny! 3 Quote It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is.
KuruPrionz
If he was 68, he would have been 15 or so when he joined Fleetwood Mac in 1969. The link in the OP no longer goes to the obituary. The Guardian has an obituary as well and states that he was 18 when he joined Fleetwood Mac in 1968. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2018/jun/14/danny-kirwan-obituary The math is off somewhere probably. He would have been 72 if the Guardian is correct. I don't know what Rolling Stone said about his age when joining FM but it would have made him 71 if he was 18 and their story was accurate. I don't know, he was a great guitarist. 3 Quote It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is.

Mark Schmieder
Considering the four year discrepancy in age during the original coverage, is it any wonder that he should pop up dead yet again four years later? 2 Quote Eugenio Upright, 60th Anniversary P-Bass, USA Geddy Lee J-Bass, Yamaha BBP35, D'angelico SS Bari, EXL1, Select Strat, 70th Anniversary Esquire, LP 57, Eastman T486, T64, Ibanez PM2, Hammond XK4, Moog Voyager
