Standard tuning and it feels like the longest neck ever.
Lower position chords take a bit of getting used to but I didn`t find it too difficult, in fact what I mostly thought about was strings. It leaves less of the string at the end, no need to clip them and for those used to a lot of winds, can`t do it. But it`s fun, extended runs and drop tune songs, without an extra string.

That's long. Sure looks like a baritone. But, if you can find strings that long, I bet the tension at that length makes them sound really rich. Like piano strings, I bet.

Not a baritone.
I absolutely loved playing this guitar. They are not cheap, otherwise I would very likely have one.

Wait a minute, what am I saying-what I`m trying to say is, it uses the same strings as a regular guitar. But it`s not in standard tuning because of the extra frets. The lowest note on the low string is a B.

I'm not sure I could get used to the fret spacing especially using open chords in the first 3 frets. It looks like you have a pretty good finger stretch in the picture Skip. I have trouble playing with long finger stretches as my hands get older with tendon problems...but if it feels good to you, sell something and go for it!

Take care, Larryz

B, E, A, D, F#, B, low to high?

Yup-capo at the 5th fret and you`re in standard.
my two main questions were, whether regular strings would be long enough, and what do you put it in. I haven`t seen any case for it.
Ya, the length gives it a feel like a banjo or shamisen, like the fretboard is narrower than it actually is.
Definitely at the head of my `next guitar` list. One thing is, if anything happens to it-cost of replacement plus airfare.
One thing about a lot of Japanese companies is, they are indifferent about expanding. I could see a demand for these, but they don`t even have a website.

OK, that IS a baritone then. Always wanted one of those. At various times Fender has made Tele or Strat baritones, but never at a point that I had an excess of cash on hand.

Have a buddy building a Tele Baritone tuned B E A D F# B. It has a humbucker at the bridge and two Tele chrome pickups center and neck (Nashville style). I noticed Fender has a Fender VI baritone out now with a Jazzmaster at the bridge and two Jaguar pickups center and neck with whammy! very cool... cool

Fender made a bajo sexto Tele years ago:

bajo sextos are tuned a fifth below standard and they're generally twelve-strings. this one was made for Richie Sambora, but I think you can still get one through the custom shop; at least you could a few years ago.

This one would require an excess-the cheapest one is about $2,500 new and that one is standard 22 frets:

http://www.harrysjp.com/guitar/zone-bn.htm

However this one is actually listed as a baritone-hence the name Zone-B.

Also a headzup-there is a U.S. builder also using the name Dragonfly, not the same guitars at all:

This one is a bit more subtle, the Gottschall Funnelbody:

Why is this guitar weird?

http://www.nicole-instruments.com/product/chessmaster-nicole/

Because it is made of Corian and it glows in the dark.

^ I don't like Les Paul-style guitars at all, but between the lighting up and the 24 frets, I'm sold!

I don't par-le-vou and may even use the incorrect Americanized term wah-lah now and then! It is a cool looking lit up axe though! Not sure why they would put a kill switch on the guitar? I would prefer it on the floor or on the end of my guitar chord (for which I have both). Not sure what that divit lighted thingy is? I'm guessing it's some kind of touch sensitive tape switch like I have on my keyboard for frequency wobbling maybe? or, is it just for looks? cool

Take care, Larryz

I think the control in the illuminated divot is the kill-switch.

I know some guys use it to do stutter effects & such, but I'm not the expert.
