A String
There have been a few obvious musical innovators through the years, but what bands, from past to present, do you feel have contributed in there own small way? Gifthorse
King's X stands in my mind as a major contributor that never got the recognition that they deserved. Every person in the band is unique and important much like Rush. I think they influenced Alice in Chains alot. I talked to Jerry Gaskill and he told me AIC was on tour with King's X opening for them before they made it. http://flagshipmile.dmusic.com/ http://www.myspace.com/gifthorse

Billster
Uli Roth with the Scorpions was very influential on players who became well known in the mid-80's. I like Uli's stuff, even after the LSD took over his mind Ever heard his solo stuff? Buy my CD on CD Baby! Bill Hartzell - the website MySpace?!?! The Geoff
I suppose Buddy Holly, The Crickets, and The Ventures over there, and The Shadows over here all cemented the concept of 2 guitars, drums & bass. Or am I going back too far? Gruupi
Nigel Tufnel was an innovator. He played his guitar with a violin and stopped to tune the violin. And of course his amps went to 11.
