TheFunkman
I've hit that point in my life: What CA$H I bring in goes to my family. So, if I want to finance my FUTURE keyboard setup, I'll have to do it by selling off a part of my PAST. To my eternal shame, I have put my Oberheim OB-X up for auction on Ebay. Check it out at: LINK Some of the best moments in my life, musical or otherwise, were experienced while hunched over this machine. The winner has to promise they'll give it a good home. Thanks. ABECK
Man, that is beautiful. I hear what you are saying. I'm in the same boat. All cash goes to the family - selling old toys seems to be the only option to finance new toys.
NoahZark
Funkman: Very cool. Wish I was in the market. I'll tell you this: It's clear just from your listing that you love that thing and treated it well over the years. Hope you get a great price for it. Mr. Nightime
Sweet! It's already past my budget. Looks like you'll do well in the auction. soundscape
Hmm... da-ymn that's tempting. I think I'll end up with something like: http://www.synthfool.com/images/briroom.jpg ...if I don't relent though. Good job my K2661 can do a half-decent job of "Oberheim" pads and brass! Stephen Fortner
Wow... that's a beauty. I think I'll shop this around the hallway here at the office, and try to convince my colleagues to go in on it with me for the studio. Tonysounds
You're not looking for a NordStage 88 are ya? I'd work a trade with cash! http://cm.ebay.com/cm/ck/1065-29296-2357-0?uid=74464758&site=0&ver=LCA080805&item=280059412690&lk=URL I ALWAYS wanted one of those, with an OB1 to go with it! TheFunkman
Thanks, I really appreciate the response. Yeah, my "X" was the star attraction of my "fusion" rig back in the 1980's. I recall a couple of times when I had what could only be described as "out-of-body experiences" while soloing on that thing. The tricky part was not to become consciously "aware" that it was occurring. It's a lot like Wile E. Coyote of cartoon fame: as long as he didn't look down, he could float in mid-air indefinitely! Hey Soundscape: Thanks for the avatar prop's! By the way, YOUR avatar reminds me of one of my childhood fantasies: EMMA PEEL of the Avengers. From this picture, I'd say she needs to learn how to properly handle a gun! http://chem.csustan.edu/JTB/GUIDES/AVENGERS/emma-peel.jpg "If more of us valued food, cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world." - J.
